As one of Richmond's oldest neighborhoods, Shockoe Valley dates back to 1737 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Shockoe Valley contains several smaller neighborhoods, including Upper Shockoe Valley. Upper Shockoe Valley begins along East Broad Street, directly north of Shockoe Slip and Shockoe Bottom. It borders the MCV Campus Virginia Commonwealth University and I-95 on its east side, with North 18th Street to the west. The Virginia State Capitol is adjacent to the neighborhood, just south of Broad Street.
Being on the east side of Downtown Richmond, Upper Shockoe Valley apartments are often within walking distance of all things downtown, including the Richmond Coliseum, the Greater Richmond Convention Center, the Dominion Arts Center, and the National. Within the neighborhood, you'll find shops and restaurants along 18th Street, including Shockoe Valley Market and the popular Shockoe Valley Pizza & Bar.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Jefferson Townhouses
I am a current resident and have lived here for a little while. While living here, there were a few issues that I was having, and it was very hard to get anyone to even investigate into the issues. Now, once we see a property manager named Miss Greer, that young lady came in with a bang while being polite and business oriented. I have spoken with Miss Greer on several times in regards to issues, concerns and complaints. Miss Greer always took the time if she has it to speak to you in regards to giving you her undivided attention along with researching and getting back with you. Even though some things did not play out the way I would have wanted that young lady (Miss) Greer is a wonderful and I a wonderful asset to this company. She is definitely a keeper.!
Literally had a mice infestation! When I called the rental office they sent “pest control” with sticky traps. Told them the mice were living in the back of my fridge and they wouldn’t replace it. I had to reach out to corporate to break my lease because the infestation was terrible. And what do you know, after I reached out they replaced the fridge. I’m still disgusted, we had to replace furniture and clothes because as we were packing to move we were finding dead mice in them! Beware!!!

Pay to much rent to live with rats .Keep calling the the office and nothing been done about it.This is the worse place i done lived in.
We have lived here for 2 years. It's in the city so it can be noisy from the trains and ambulances. Parking can be bad if you live on the street near the office due to VCU and the hospital. The walls are pretty thin and shake when big trucks go by. Closet space is decent and the bedrooms are a nice size too. It's a nice starter apartment. When we moved in the Internet and basic cable was included but for more channels and higher speed it's a little more. Maintenance and the office personnel are friendly, I've seen some come and go but mostly there's a familiar face when you speak with someone. For the most part you can say it's clean and taken care of.
Jefferson Townhomes is pretty nice. Office staff is helpful when needed. Only downfalls are the thin walls with loud neighbors, and the personal patios aren't private. Kids are always playing out back. Close to everything downtown.
I moved in my apartments over six months ago and I must say I love them From the rental office agents to the overall best rates and amenities in Richmond. They include free cable and internet and a microwave and washer and dryer is in the apartments which is also a plus. I found this apartment on apartments.com and I'm glad I did! Great bargain
I moved into Jefferson townhomes in Mar 2015, and Im in love with it. The section I was placed in is nice and quite, not a lot of foot traffic. I got a washer & dryer, internet and cable free. Rent is $690 for a 2bdrm,PRETTY GOOD TO ME! Those with any little ones, like myself, will appreciate the park that is walking distance from the townhomes. Hope you love it as much as I do.
