I’ve lived in Richmond for years but never stayed in an apartment complex for more than one term. The staff at hydro is always working to better the building and create a great community. I have renewed for the third time and every year a new amenity has been added and the social events that are hosted has resulted in many of great friendships. PRG listens to all Our suggestions and complaints. The parking was increased last year for guests and although we could still use more spots, as a resident I felt that my voice was heard. Amazing location, great staff. If I could own my apartment here I would keep it forever.

I have lived at Hydro for nearly three years now, and although it is not perfect (no short term apartment complex is), it has a lot of upsides. The rent is comparable to nearby locations, the staff is friendly (and incredibly helpful with any issues), serviceable pool and gym, and it is pet friendly. Above all, it is in a wonderful location in close proximity to the downtown Richmond area but with more of a secluded feel.

From the initial tour with Alexander to the process of securing my apartment, the team at Hydro has been nothing but top class. Quick to respond, transparent about all the costs with living here and accommodating. Everyone I’ve encountered is very friendly and it truly feels like you’re apart of a community. The property is always clean and smells amazing. The gym and common areas are also nice, which is a plus. Stunning views and great location. I would give 6 stars if I could. :)

Alex responds to all inquiries in a timely manner and remains professional at all times! I love my apartment, I hear no noise from outside, the only thing that worries me is the lack of parking, but I understood what I was signing myself up for when I moved in. So I’m sure in due time more parking will become available somehow. My view is beautiful and so is my home!

Robberies, and unsafe environment. Community feels cheap. Illegal activities in parking lot. No parking even for residents. Please avoid.

I scheduled a tour of the building to potentially lease. Riley was so lovely to work with. She was very knowledgeable about the building and so friendly. After we looked at the apartment, she took me through the amenity areas. The common areas were clean and well maintained. Riley told me they have the building professionally cleaned three times a week. During the tour we passed the property manager and maintenance team and they introduced themselves and felt very inviting. All in all, I’m very impressed with this apartment complex.

Hydro apartments is a great place to live. The apartments have a great view of the river and city. The management company and the staff there are consistently striving to make the place better day in and day out by adding great amenities, having a multitude of events each month for the residents, and answering questions and completing service requests in a timely fashion. The building itself is close enough to the city to make doing things quick and easy, but just of the main road making things peaceful. if i could give it 6 stars out of 5 I would.

I moved to Richmond after getting a new job and had trouble finding a staff that would answer my questions. Price, location, and new features were important to me. Tatum was very responsive and sent lots of photos so I could make my cross country move. Been here for 3 months and honestly haven’t had any issues.

There are a few things that could use improvement, but most importantly, some forget others live here, yell & run in the hallways at all hours. There is a city noise ordinance 11pm-7am, but it would be nice if the building sent out a reminder email to be courteous of your neighbors and the hours of the noise ordinance. The complex does not allow guest parking and there's nothing convenient nearby. Also, parking is overfull. We pay a large monthly charge, but I've had to circle the lot and wait for someone to leave. Also, many neighbors and their guests have had their cars towed for no reason (parking pass oversight is common) or petty reasons like being on the line. To have your car returned, you must be on the registration, so if you are a student out of state, you will not be able to get your car back and it costs at least $160. Bike Storage is not secure and though it has cameras, items were unscrewed and stolen off my bicycle. There is no FOB required for entrance, so anyone can go in and steal. Lastly, it would nice if there was a dog-free floor because my neighbor's dog barks a bit and is most notably heard in my bedroom. I leave my bed for the couch half the week. Also, the bedroom window is not as soundproof as the one in the living room. I can hear traffic.

Good location, staff is not so cool except for one person, literally and parking situation is terrible, the finishings on the apartments are cheap, floors are cheap, all the doors are heavy to open, elevators slow, they tax you on every single thing, you can’t even get your package from package concierge with out paying, the tow company they partnered with is terrible they literally come everyday looking for a come up and they have 1 star rating, I don’t see why any one would want to partner with them, shanks towing I’ve seen them come back around twice multiple times in one night because they couldn’t tow no one car the first go around smh Trash room is always dirty and filled up

this place claims to be luxury apartments but cut corners on everything. The water pressure is horrible, inconsistent hot water, sharp edges on everything, shotty work inside the apartments. The girls in the office have nothing but audacity approaching me cause my dog had an accident bec the fire alarm. Talking about "we try to keep the area clean" ok? So keep it clean what you want me to do go up stairs and get a towel and spray during a fire drill?. If yall can't provide regular hot water than yall can certainly clean up a little accident on a concrete floor. Update: they charged me 50 dollars for an accident on the floor that I couldn't clean up bec of the fire drill. They charge you for parking every month, no free parking for residents. ITS NOT WORTH THE PRICE. This place is a work in progress and not to the standard of luxury at all. Just look at RPG (owner of the property) reviews and they will tell you everything you need to know about how their properties.

My fiancee and I applied to these apartments on June 5th. We did not have a decision until June 16th. Tried to pay my application fee countless times, and the computer system did not let me pay it. I tried calling Hydros, was forwarded to another third party system who promised they would call back. I never once got a call back, would get a vague email two days later. Was told the error was my fault multiple times, that I just could not figure out how to do it, no solution was given. Two weeks later, it turns out it was a computer error on Hydros end. Long story short I am out $350 (reservation fee is not refunded unless your application is denied) for an apartment complex I want absolutely no part of due to their lack of organization and knowledge within the company. Hydros needs a lot of internal work before it is ready for residents.
