Whatever your artistic passion, Hudson Arthaus is designed for it. There’s space to work and exhibit, tools and equipment to share and even academics and fellow artists with whom you can consult and plan. It’s a place without boundaries—so let your creativity free. Woodshop – You supply the material, but everything else is here. The shop features a tablesaw, a variety of both power and manual hand tools and a vented vacuum system for clean up. 14 Studio/Storage spaces – Ready for most any project, these shared areas are for sculpting, painting, carving—whatever. These 14 spaces consist of 5 daily use and 9 monthly use spaces. Digital suite – Creativity via pixels. Use one of the 4 computers—both Apple and PC— to create your own digital designs, or research the internet for information and sources to inform your work. Gallery – Managed by Collar Works, the gallery exists to promote and exhibit non-commercial fine arts. In addition to pieces produced by Hudson Arthaus residents, the gallery will also feature local, regional and national art. Our income-based rents make living easier, and on-premise staff and amenities make creative pursuits possible. Living at Hudson Arthaus means you're surrounded by the absolute best that Troy has to offer. On the eastern bank of the Hudson River lies the suburb of Troy, New York. With a population of almost 50,000, Troy is an affordable city with great rental opportunities. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Russel Sage College are two great universities in Troy.
Golfing is common in Troy with the a 247-acre public course with 18-holes, an ice rink, tennis courts, and a nature trail that surrounds Bradley Lake. Frear Park Municipal Golf Course is a great place for the family, located on Lavin Court. Closer to Hudson River on River Street, there are notable bars and restaurants such as Brown’s Brewing, classic American grub, and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, southern-style meats and draft brews in a retro setting.
