Ever since Cortland took over, living here has been amazing. Special shout out to the maintenance team. Our A/C went out so they installed a window unit for us while the new A/C was being shipped. They installed it as soon as it was delivered so our apartment was ready for summer. The installation was challenging but they spent the whole day taking care of us. The leasing agents & management team are so friendly & they truly care about the residents here. The ratings here have gone up significantly. Cortland continues to improve the property & the experience of living here. The gym & pool are both great, lots of families live here & it is a SAFE & CLEAN place to live. It truly is a blessing that Cortland took over and brought us an amazing team. Job well done. Thank you.

I just leased a gorgeous apartment that is very close to my work! I worked with all the employees there at least once and they did everything possible to make my move go smoothly! Sometimes property management changes and they send in a team to fix the problems as best they can! My leasing agent( Jen) sent me a video of my new home and paid very close attention to my needs and where my daughter went to school. I absolutely love my new apartment and had one maintenance request when I moved in and it was taken care of within 24 hrs! As far as all the reviews I’ve seen I don’t agree with any of it.. Best experience I’ve had working with a team that tries to fix the old management issues they inherited!

I moved in here back in February and it has been a complete disaster and horrible experience. I do not wish it upon anyone. I don’t get the lack of communication that this community provides. Definitely do your homework prior to choosing The Heights as your new home!

Went to view a unit and gave them my ID. They did not give it back to me, which is their responsibility since they require it. When I asked them to bring it to me the response from Jen was, "there is no regulation that requires we do that, it happens all the time." I said it should be a courtesy since it "happens all the time" and it's your job to give it back. Is this how they run things? Not a good sign. Edit: Waited 4 days to see if anyone would call and apologize. Not a peep. Now the bad reviews about maintenance make sense.
Buyer beware. I thought everything was good and actually liked the apartment, with the exception of the slow response to what they deemed an emergency (a steady leak under the kitchen sink). Then when I moved out they showed their true colors. They will straight up lie to your face, then when called out about it, the story suddenly changes. Maybe it’s just me and having an issue with dishonesty. If you are ok with a dishonest business that has no issues lying, then you won’t have a problem here. However, if a business being deceitful is not your thing, this may not be the place for you. The kicker is, if they’d been honest up front, things would not have changed in what I did and would have still moved. The exception is that I would not be writing this since they’d already have told me up front and they would get a good review. As I started with, I actually liked it here until they showed they were liars.
So I know there are a lot of bad reviews but here's what we have experienced...We love our home and the community around us. It's quiet and the remodeled units are so cute. None of our neighbors have said anything bad to us about the property, management, nor maintenance. The new appliances are beautiful and we love our new carpet. We have had a couple of maintenance requests that were handled in a professional and timely manner. So we have no complaints. Rent is higher because all rent is higher in DFW...people wanting to move because of that are in for a shock, but at least they are updating and remodeling the units so you get what you pay for. Some places are charging more and not changing anything. Lastly, it may be easy to vent and complain, but if things were as bad as all the negative reviews, wouldn't most people be leaving? I don't see tons of people moving out but I do see people moving in, new people, and new families while talking with other residents that have lived here for years and don't seem to have bad things to say. If I could change anything, it would be that we could get two covered parking spots instead of just one because we are a two car family (not a deal breaker for us though). We are happy here and feel blessed to have a place we call home.
New management has a "I can do whatever I want mentality." Have caught maintenance men going into my apartment for no reason on several occasions and when I complain the management responds with "We can go in anytime we want!" I'm now told I have to move after 2 and a half years because they want to remodel my apartment so they can charge more rent. The walls are thin. The dumpster is always overflowing. They overcharge for everything. They charge for parking and to receive your own packages. I got charged double the water bill in October because they say they had issues with the city. The new manager is extremely rude. Do not move here!
The good reviews were written before the apartments were bought out. It's horrible now. I will be moving as soon as my lease is up. Going up $400 on rent and then being told that they are going to get the riff raff out of here. It was a really great place to live up until now. Been here 6 years and never had a complaint but now???
