Apartment Onsite Teams Day 2026: Celebrating Multifamily Property Staff

Published on

Every year, Apartment Onsite Teams Day shines a spotlight on the essential onsite staff who keep apartment communities running day in and day out. From leasing agents and property managers to maintenance techs and supervisors, these hardworking individuals form the backbone of the multifamily industry.

At Apartments.com, we’re proud to celebrate Apartment Onsite Teams Day, which falls this year on April 22. We’re honoring three onsite team members with a special shoutout and a cash prize.

Meet the winners

As part of our Apartment Onsite Teams Day contest, we asked you about the coworkers who make a difference in your communities. And the feedback was overwhelming.

Hundreds of you responded, sharing stories about the outstanding individuals you work with at properties across the country. You described their contagious energy, commitment to residents, and consistent support.

In total, you shared over 1,400 nominations for deserving colleagues across different onsite roles. Three nominees stood out as this year’s winners:

In celebration of their contributions, each of these winners has received a $2,000 gift card from Apartments.com.

Meet Miranda: the resident manager who keeps her property running smoothly

As an onsite resident manager for a 64-unit property, Miranda Mena is a pro at addressing resident requests and disputes. Responsible for over 100 residents at Sandpointe Apartment Homes in Oceanside, California, Miranda responds quickly and effectively.

“She gets tensions quelled without adding to the stress,” said Nick Cohenmeyer, who nominated her for the prize.

Her attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to juggle multiple priorities make her an “outstanding apartment manager,” Nick said.

He added: “We’re lucky to have her and lucky to keep her.”

Meet Oscar: an aspiring maintenance supervisor who goes the extra mile

Whether it’s a regular day at work or an after-hours emergency, residents and teammates at Catalina Ridge can count on Oscar Ordaz.

The maintenance tech at the Bridge Property Management community in Tucson, Arizona, “goes above and beyond for the whole property,” said Elizabeth Freeman, who nominated him for the award. Whatever issue pops up, Oscar is there to help, addressing the request immediately.

“He’s always trying to do that extra 1 percent,” Elizabeth said.

Oscar is currently working on his HVAC certification, and in the future, he plans to become a maintenance supervisor.

Meet Victor: a multifamily newcomer making an early impact

New to the multifamily industry, Victor Ramirez has hit the ground running. Working at Nova Chapel Hill Apartments in Durham, North Carolina, Victor has embraced his combined role of leasing specialist and assistant manager.

“He’s learning fast,” said manager Selena Curtis, who nominated him for the award. “He’s always willing to help.”

Victor answers incoming calls, tracks down information for residents, and uses his bilingual skills to better serve the community. And he does so with a bright smile, enthusiastic attitude, and polite demeanor, which has earned him positive reviews from residents.

“He’s just a charm to be around,” Selena said.
