I've been with this property 3 separate occasions now, and absolutely love it. It's changed hands 3 times now since 2018, and so far, just a few weeks into Griffis taking over, I'm a fan. They started upgrades to the property on day one. The office staff (some temporary helping with the transition, and some permanent) have been amazing. I'm so used to "big business" running a property, having to jump through hoops and waiting indefinitely to get anything done/approved, and this company/team makes everything a piece of cake. They are empowered to do things others couldn't do on a local level. Even when there's a pretty major hiccup that they knew was going to take several days to fix, they accommodated me and my partner and made us happy. Lyn, the property manager, and Bridget are great to work with. The maintenance folks are great, fast, and efficient.

Lived here 5 years overall good resident experience great area nice amenities rent hasn't increased significantly since covid. The security has gotten better over the years in the parking garage.

for the most part, love this apartment complex. especially the pool and the bbq grills. the monthly dinners provided by the front office. just wish they would regulate things better with ppl making noise and letting their dogs poop around the building and not picking it up.
Great, clean, and quiet loving spaces. Leasing office is great during my tour and has made my transition as smooth as possible. So glad to call Essence home!

Essence has been a great place to live so far. Great amenities and close to everything that you would need. Some are even in walking distance for not too hot days! Pool szn is just getting started and I’m sure it’s going to be a blast!

Love the building and features. Staff have been exceptionally helpful. The move in was easy and the leasing office was there to help every step of the way.
Everything good so far! Happy to move to Essence on Maple. People are nice and spaces are clean. After looking at different apartments on my budget, Essence by far has the best design.

Every year when it's time to renew my lease I tour different buildings to see what else is out there. I've yet to find a building that has all the benefits of Essence on Maple including but not limited to location, price, size, amenities, and staff.
I feel like I'm living my dream life, which I have always wished for since high school. That dream life cannot become a reality without moving to this beautiful place. I love the neighbors, the staff, and the neighborhood. Everything is just ideal for me. I can't wait for my first Thanksgiving and Christmas break at this place.
Big apartment complexes will always have big apartment complexes issues but essence addresses them and deals with them in the most efficient manner. The halls / lobby don’t smell like a typical apartments complex smell. They clean non stop. The common areas are super nice and have been since the day this building opened. The gym is by far the best apartment gym I’ve ever seen.
Office Staff was Amazing getting me in here. The process was fast.Management was like no other place I have lived . We are very grateful to call ourselves residents of the ESSENCE ON MAPLE!!!SHOUT OUT TO THE WHOLE TEAM WORKING HARD. Love it!!!!

Living here is amazing. Front office is always quick to send emails regarding issues or maintenance and everything is literally always clean; elevators, hallways, everything. Seriously have 0 issues with living here

Loved living here! Maintenance is quick to help and the amenities are always clean and well kept up. The staff is constantly putting on vents for the community. The walls and floors are a little thin for folks living in lower units but I feel like that’s a struggle everywhere. Highly recommend living here!

Amenities are the best. Great apartments but between the garage gates and elevators one of them and some times both are always broken. Also the set up of apartments is great but the worst part is not having air conditioned hallways. When the elevator is working it takes too long to move. It’s extra slow compared to any other elevator in other buildings so you’re sweating in the summer while you wait. It’s almost cooler outside than in the hallways or the garage. Also there are zero dog waste stations around the complex, zero. The only one in the dog park, so you have to use the ones from the other apartment complexes which are not nearby. Maintenance crew is the best and office staff is very friendly and responsive with any concern. Love them!
The area is what makes this community amazing. However that’s the only thing because there is constant construction going on outside and there is constant noise along with congestion on each street and potential for car issues such as when I hit a pot hole and had to get my car towed. The property management are not approachable and can be way better with some effort . The amenities are substandard, the property is not maintained well, and the dated look of the interior halls and apartments do not support having so an inflated monthly rental rate, which also increases substantially with additional fees for washer and dryer and a monthly rent amount for every pet you own. The cost is not worth it.

I love the apartment complex. The pool is fantastic and the complex is very well maintained. It is very convenient to get to the bars and restaurants in Oak Lawn. And easy to get to downtown by going down maple avenue.

Swanky mid-rise in the heart of Oaklawn! Great amenities, a second floor, pool, gorgeous lobby and club rooms and an awesome staff and great views of downtown in the upstairs sky lounge!
