Albany, New York combines historic architecture and contemporary living along the Hudson River. As the Capital District's center, the city balances government operations with welcoming neighborhoods. Current rental trends show moderate growth, with average rents ranging from $1,284 for studios to $1,914 for three-bedroom units, with an overall average of $1,506. The market has seen modest increases, with year-over-year changes varying from 1.8% to 3.5% across different unit sizes.
Albany's neighborhoods each offer distinct characteristics. Center Square features well-preserved row houses near local shops and restaurants, while Pine Hills sits close to educational institutions. Washington Park, an 81-acre green space designed in 1876, hosts summer concerts and provides winter recreation including ice skating. The Empire State Plaza and the New York State Capitol building create Albany's recognizable skyline.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Grecian Terrace Apartments
I’ve lived here for 16 years and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. This is my home and I am so grateful of just how well they take care of me. The guys are so professional and friendly! Best neighbors in the world too!
I lived here for almost a decade and am currently part of a mass of residents leaving. Back when we moved in, things would get taken care of. If something was broken, maintenance would be there within the hour or at the most, the next day. Now, we're lucky if anybody from Burns shows up to the property unless it's to show an apartment. I've had black mold in my bathroom for years, a neighbor had it seeping up through her carpet. Their response is just to scrub it away, instead of coming to replace the sheet rock. When our hoarder neighbors (they got evicted and management brought a cleaning crew who required hazmat suits and a large dumpster) moved out and left a colony of mice that infested our building, their response was to leave sticky traps that I was constantly worried about my cats getting stuck on. Lately, the garbage truck hasn't even been coming as scheduled, resulting in overflowing dumpsters. As far as environment goes, you're next to a swamp, so be prepared to become mosquito food in the summer. You're also sandwiched between the firehouse and the animal hospital, so between fire calls and dogs barking, it's pretty loud (your walls are also pretty thin). I wouldn't call it ample parking (I often get home from work late and am unable to find a parking spot and have to walk in a poorly lit parking lot to my apartment), and I've never seen assigned parking in the time I've lived there. Snow removal sucks (they come maybe once during a blizzard and don't clear the spots out well, and the sidewalk doesn't always get touched). The laundry rooms are expensive, inefficient, and dirty (not to mention the one in my building constantly smells as if someone has been smoking in it). Your neighbors are hit and miss. Some are absolutely wonderful people who I will miss dearly. I hope they'll be able to find a better place to live as well. Others are completely disrespectful of others, not caring about noise, broken glass, or cigarette smoke going into others' spaces. I've had my car scratched by kids riding their bikes between parked cars, not caring where they're going. Of course, there's really no place for kids to play except in the parking lot. Overall, I wouldn't recommend living here. In fact, I wouldn't recommend living at any property run by Burns Management. Not unless they actually start to care about the residents again.
