I moved in right before the pandemic and it was just constantly down hill. The staff was nice but not very helpful. They never answered their phone or replied to emails. When we moved in they hadn’t even finished cleaning or repairing items. The vent in the bathroom never worked the whole time. The carpet was just laid on the floor pretty much, and I’m positive that how all the ants and roaches got in. Yes roaches, SO MANY! The management and even the regional manager kept telling us how to clean the apartment, like we didn’t know. Saying our cleanliness was the issue. No. I was about 5 months pregnant and nesting. I was home every day and cleaned consistently throughout the apartment. Having a clean home for my new baby was very important to me. They had told us that they would take care of it and just sent pest control every month to spray. Which obviously wasn’t helping. It was past inhabitable. Another time our ceiling started leaking every time it rained, that wasn’t necessarily the issue, leaks happen, we get it. The issue is that black mold was forming in the ceiling and they knew that after cutting a gaping hole in our living room ceiling. They left the hole and the black mold for nearly three months before it was even covered. Neighbors were always loud and having parties even with the pandemic. We were always getting emails saying that part of the staff had tested positive for COVID. Police were always around. Yeah, it’s nice to know it’s secured but they were around because of people shooting off guns, relationship disputes all over, and marijuana use every where. We moved in with the new management and let me tell you, it’s not worth the price paid. Do not move here.
After living in Nebraska until this year I have never felt at home like in these apartments. Reasonably priced and staff and maintenance very friendly and knowledgeable. Recommend giving them a try at your next place to live. Denise Boje

I love living here! So far the office staff has been very helpful and the move in process was super quick. Their Pet Policy is one of the best around and we’re so grateful we found a place that cares for us and our pets!

Wasn't too happy with the complex for the first year we lived here, but it has recently switched hands and they are working diligently to better our community. Everyone that works here is extremely friendly and helpful as well! The apartments are decently priced for the amount of space you get. The rooms and bathrooms are HUGE. Only complaint I have is that there are no washer and dryer hookups; however, they are currently updating our laundry room. - Stacey Bennett

Grant 79 apartments has some of the best rates in Kansas city and is fairly cheap relative to the amount of space you get (which is a lot relative to other apts). Very friendly staff. The interior looks amazing and was just renovated. Very large bathroom, living room, and bedroom, with beautiful countertops and wood flooring (fake wood but still looks nice). There aren’t very many amenities which is why the rent is probably so low which I’m fine with. There is a pool and an onsite washer and dryer that was just renovated. The apt complex use to have a lot of garbage and peoples belongings laying around, however, the new management seems to be stepping up to making this place a more clean and friendly environment. I haven’t had a problem with the maintenance service here and they acted very fast when my heater wasn’t working (came to fix it the next day). The only problem I have is that the ceiling and walls are fairly thin. I can hear every foot step my neighbors take and can hear every noise they make (talking, tv, music etc.). If you don’t mind noise, then this place is by far one of the best apartment complexes in terms of a low cost budget for a nice looking place!

I am an actual resident who has lived here for over 4 years in 2 different apartments. I was given the option to stay and move into a renovated unit which I accepted easily. I would NOT have stayed had there been any problems. The manager, Angela is awesome. Very responsive with any issues I have and available when I need to speak with her. The grounds are clean and maintained well. My neighbors are nice and quiet. Prices are reasonable for me and I like my location. I enjoy calling Grant 79 home

No help with anything, they people at the office are flat out rude, the owners of the property act like they don't care and you are not relevant. I have stupidly lived there for 3 years, my rent has NEVER been late. They rent to trashy people, there's trash EVERYWHERE. The lights for the building go out and they flash very annoyingly and they have never been fixed. It smells like backed up sewage in my apt all the time. The place is a flat out dump.

This is a GREAT place to live!!! Brand new cabinets, countertops and appliances. The new property manager is so nice and welcoming and is always there to help when needed. Couldn't ask for anything better!!! Great price and a great location!

Water is shut off at least 3 days out if the week. Maintenance is always working on something and they just tear up the grounds and leave their trash everywhere. Front office doesn't care because they don't live here and don't have to worry about it when they leave for their nice home. And we are stuck with no running water, roaches, and loud music. People will park their cars in the grass, I guess to get closer to their building. People can't seem to get their trash in the trash bin, so it is scattered everywhere on the ground outside of the dump. They keep the basement doors unlocked so children/teens whoever can get in there and vandilize where our cable is set up, that we pay for! The heating in your apartment with only best like one room properly, the rest of your house is cold. Pest control is supposed to come but we still have roaches. When we signed the lease we were gaurenteed a pool during the summer, but instead it was under construction the whole summer when they had all of the other months to get it fixed. So no pool the whole summer. Don't move here!!! Management is a joke. Don't let the new sparkling front office fool you.

They shut off water to your building once a week but never tell you what's wrong. They say pest control comes but I've been home all day twice when they were supposed to and no one came. Roaches! The pool was shut down all summer for "repairs" 3 of the 10 washer and dryers work at best. Maintence is lazy and trashy. Had cables cut in our basement because maintenance didn't lock the door. After talking to the front office multiple time and it still doesn't get locked. Put a bunch of new money into the front office to make it seem nice but it's not. Front office won't answer the phone even when you know they are there. Kids drag out trash to play with and mess with peoples cars. No parents anywhere to be found. Pizza won't even deliver here after 5 pm because of muggings. If you want a cheap apartment you can trash this is your place but if you want a nice and safe living arrangement move any where else.

DON'T MOVE HERE! Dirty, so bad workers won't even live here. Mattresses pulled form dumpsters to be played on by kids. Cars being broke into. Mold in rooms that maintenance just spray paint over. Roaches and mice. Fights outside, plumbing is bad. Could go on and on. If u move here you will hate yourself for it when your kids get picked on by adults. Keep looking don't stop here.

Trashy and criminal people, neighbors cat calling and harassing women, people in and it at all hours. Domestic disputes in public you can hear through your windows. "Renovated" apartments have plumbing, HVAC and structural issues. Maintenance is super slow. HUGE problems with trash disposal. Big time illlegal dumping site. Kids playing on dirty thrown out mattresses and couches. Pool has been under construction the entire summer. Pizza place doesn't deliver past 5pm to the neighborhood, because to many of their drivers have been robbed or mugged. Kids run around with no supervision, bad kids, through parking lots in front of cars. People who don't live here park where there are no spots and box you in when you have to go to work. Bottom line if your a hard working tax paying citizen, you will hate yourself if you move here.

This place is terrible. It is not clean...people completely trash the grounds and the management does not keep it cleaned up. Kids drag old mattresses and furniture into the green areas to play with. Walls are so thin you can hear everything. People drive their cars into the lawns so that they don't have to walk an extra 10 ft. Don't move here. It's disgusting.
