Property Ratings at Gables Katy Trail
I love my apartment for what it’s been and because I’ve made it home but the area is largely under construction leaving many places without sidewalks. I struggle with the noise and several things that won’t fit here but I’m conflicted because I have been here for so many years. It’s been great in the past but the last 2 months have been largely inconvenient and very much not worth the amount my rent has increased since I moved here. Almost doubled in 3 years. At this point I’m regretting signing again.
Great location and most affordable place in the area. But very old building with lots of maintence and aesthetic issues. Staff is nice and tries to be as helpful as possible!
The move-in process was extremely easy. I submitted my application and had a response early the next business day and was able to get my keys and move in the next day. They did a great job!
The apartment at Gables Katy Trail is wonderful and the helpfulness of Jennifer and Bre in the office is exceptional. I did a lot of looking before deciding that Gables Katy Trail was the place for me.
The staff at Gables Katy Trail made moving in easy and pleasant! From the first visit to receiving the keys to our new apartment, the staff was always available and helpful. Jennifer was wonderful!
I truly love it here. Nothing is perfect but this is home. Staff has changed but I’m sure once I get to know them they will feel as much like family as the old staff did
I love it here, affordable for the area, just need a little polishing. The staff is wonderful. The amenities are great, small gym but has everything you need.

Great building with a nice and quiet pool. Walking distance to many options for going out and getting dinner. The neighborhood is great and has low crime. Best part is it’s right off Katy Trail!
My time at Gables at Katy Trail has been perfect. I love the location, the community and the staff. Everyone is friendly and all issues are dealt with in a timely manner. I’m looking forward to another year in this beautiful space!
I just moved in 5 days ago, but so far everything has been great! My unit was clean and ready to go for me! Covered secure parking is always a plus!
I’ve lived in tiny old apartments all the way to luxury apartments and this is by far my favorite place I’ve lived so far. It’s homey, perfect location, clean, and has all the amenities without feeling “sterile” like some luxury cookie cutter places do. 10/10.
Great location, very helpful staff, beautiful pool area. They have recently taken steps to freshen up the community with a powerwashing/painting project which is appreciated. Only downside is that the laundry area is extremely outdated, often broken, and utilizes a frustrating payment system.
So far I’ve really loved my experience at Gables Katy trail. The actual location feels really safe and is right by the Katy trail. The interiors feel a bit dated, but everything has functioned really well. Quiet neighbors so far, and easy to work with the leasing office. I think it’s well worth the rent to live so centrally and in a nice community
I’ve loved it here for years. It’s still great but a lot has gone down hill for sure. Maybe it’s the staff changes or the construction all around. With how much rent has gone up, I don’t feel like I’ve gotten anything for that. The trash shoot is always a nightmare.
Really good place to live. A little out dated , but the people are great and the location is perfect. Huge plus to have access to the katy trail.
Love it here! Great access to katy trail, and a really nice location in the city. Couldn't ask for a better apartment complex, staff and neighborhood community.
This is my first week as resident. The leasing office and Jennifer are great, the Gables is a quiet community and is good to have water and green around.
The community is very quiet and clean. Maintenance usually responds within 24 to 48 hours and if they can't make it they communicate that to you so that you are aware of the status of your request. The community has a very small pool area and there isn't a courtyard it's only the pool & BBQ grill located in the middle of the property. A couple of the downsides to living here is that they don't have alot of community activities where the residents can get to know each other and the staff. Also, the amenities here are very limited.
I just moved in a couple weeks ago, but so far I love it here. It’s quiet and I love being connected to Katy Trail. The move-in process was very easy as well.
Leasing and move-in were so fast and easy. Any questions I had were answered quickly and any problems I had were resolved just as fast. Could tell that the staff genuinely wanted what was best for me.
I just moved in and love the neighborhood, staff, and my unit. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because things look extremely dirty in the courtyard and common areas. Hiring somebody to power wash the community would be a major upgrade.
The location and neighborhood are great. The community is really charming, just a little older. We’ve had some maintence issues but other than that it’s been fine.
My time at Gables Katy Trail began wonderfully. After you move in, the leasing office is difficult to get ahold of. Maintenance always came within 1-2 days which was nice, but half the time they just patched up the issue rather than fixing it. For example, my washer ruined many loads of clothes and I asked someone come look at it 3 times before it flooded my apartment. It took me contacting the head of maintenance before coming to replace the washer and fix my torn up carpet. After moving out, I was charged $1300 for carpet replacement. It said for pet damage... I never owned a pet. They took the charge off after me sending multiple emails. When it rained, water poured in from the window. If you want an apartment with a great location, go for it! But the place is falling apart... elevator is always broken, the gym is gross, walls are cracking, attitude from staff. I wouldn't be surprised if it was demolished in the next few years and re-built.
I love it here. It’s quiet and clean. I do miss my neighbors, everyone is getting priced out which makes sense. The rent increases are kinda wild.
Great place to live and very affordable compared to other apartments in the area. Slightly outdated, but location makes up for it. Very close to west village and you have direct access to katy trail.
Preferably one of the best apartment complex in the Uptown Dallas area surrounded by numerous things to do such as bars, parks, restaurants and more. No complaints, just simple living in one of Dallas best neighborhoods. ??
This apartment complex is great.It has all of the necessities. The apartments are clean and spacious. The staff is attentive and quick to respond. The views and location are fantastic! All it is missing is an updated look on the outside and better amenities. All things I can live without for a great price to live in uptown.

Mgmt company and all of mgmt is grossly incompetent which wouldn’t normally matter but you WILL have issues with AC and heat, No insulation in walls, MOLD everywhere, Single pane drafty windows, rotting underpayment which has led to many people having 3 months of repairs while in apt, leaking roofs, water shut offs, and pool algae. Package delivery for a FEE Also they try and raise rent every year despite owning the property and making zero improvements.

DO. NOT. MOVE. HERE. When I first moved in, I had to go two weeks without a washer / dryer bc the electrical hookups were wired incorrectly. The front desk was kind enough to offer me a 4 dollar laundry card and only after negotiations was I able to get 7 dollars in compensation. Then I started having issues with my AC. IT WENT OUT 4 TIMES A MONTH. Their solution? A window unit that doubled my electric bill. Oh, and this has all happened in my first 3 months of living here. For your own good, STAY FAR AWAY.
