From the shore of Bde Maka Ska lake to the thriving businesses along Lyndale Avenue, Uptown serves as a major hub for arts and entertainment in Minneapolis. The music scene has deep roots, with legendary alumni such as Prince getting their start in Uptown. The nightlife tends to be a bit more subdued than the nearby Warehouse District, but still incorporates dozens of bars and nightclubs catering to a variety of tastes. The neighborhood is known for its artistic flair, reflected in the abundance of public artworks and popular events like the Uptown Art Fair.
When it comes to living in Uptown Minneapolis, folks have several great options. Most of the neighborhood is residential, with everything from historic apartment buildings to large single-family homes lining the streets. The extensive network of tree-shaded sidewalks make it simple to reach your favorite café or neighborhood pub on foot, and Downtown is easily within biking distance.

Property Ratings at Flux Apartments
I’ve been here for a few years and I love it! I’ve seen some negative reviews. There were a few bad tenants that are gone now. Also new management. Dalton is making some great changes. Fun people and location!!!

Thank you for the wonderful five-star review! We're so happy to hear you've loved your time at The Flux and appreciate you sharing your positive experience. We're happy to know you're seeing improvements in the community. We look forward to continuing to provide you with the exceptional experience you deserve!
The apartments themselves are pretty nice, and amenities, when working, are good. However, the management company doesn't put a shred of effort into the property in any facet. Just to list a few issues, the hottub has been down for over a year and is showing no signs of working soon, the gym has been out of wipes for months and now smells like a bacteria petri dish. There is garbage overflowing everywhere in the parking structures, grills dont work, and there are slurs all over the elevators. If you need to get in touch with management - too bad. It's not possible. Calling them yields a full mailbox, there is no email that can be reliably reached, and the front desk is often empty during working hours. I've been owed a referral bonus for 10 months and have asked multiple times just to be told they'll send it soon and I never receive it. Overall, just a company that wants to do less than the bare minimum and try to hoard as much as they can

We're sorry to hear that you've had difficulty reaching our team. We work hard to provide an exceptional home for our residents and would like to connect with you. Please feel free to swing by our office during office hours.
I lived here before the most recent management company took over and enjoyed the space. Living here 2022/2023 was not enjoyable. Multiple exterior doors/gates broken for months on end, leaving entry open to anyone. Requests to management go unanswered. I have since moved out, finally, and now management ignores my requests for my deposit back. Just know what you’re getting into.

We moved in Nov 2022.....the process was smooth and the office is very responsive here. Yes things break down here and there but that will be anywhere you go. They email as soon as anything happens and don't ignore problems. Maintenance is on point and get right to it! Walls are not thin here like I've read. Management does not play about people smoking or stealing or being loud since this is their home as well. I love Flux just wish it was in a different area. the area as a whole is a little to poppin for me!

We hope you continue to enjoy our five-star customer service. Don’t hesitate to reach out to our team, if you need anything in the future!
Since I've moved in there has been multiple property managers and no communication between them. My move in day was a terrible experience. I've had to give my car info multiple times and been threatened to be towed when I pay for a spot. The package room is a hit or miss if it's working, loud neighbors thanks to thin walls, barley any response or care from the management group, elevator decides to stop working here and there, gym getting broken into and weights stolen and rude dog owners. I also do not feel safe once I leave my apartment. All of this is disappointing since I do love my actual apartment space and the maintenance staff.

Branded as a "luxury" apartment complex Flux does not meet that standard. The Units themselves are nice, I do like having a gas stove and the building is still new enough that the carpets and cabinets are not too worn. However, the amenities need updating. The gym is missing half of the dumbbells, the felt on the pool table is lean, and the delivery package room often doesn't work. But the main reason I can't recommend Flux is Simpson Property Management. Their staff are often negligent or unresponsive. For example, they originally scheduled me to move in on a Sunday, when the office is closed. I caught this and had it rescheduled to a Monday. Showed up in the morning, day off of work, family members to help me move, and no staff was working to give me the key or even open the door. I spent the entire day making calls and trying to get in touch with someone with no response. It was only in the evening, after a wasted day someone finally returned my call.

Please contact us at flux@simpsonhousing.com or (952) 314-8075, and we would appreciate talking with you directly about these concerns.
Noisy pool and gym disrupt me, upstairs neighbors quite poor.
Maintenance has always been great here with their service, attitude and response time. That said, there are too many other things that have slid here and I wouldn't recommend people live here.
I love living at Flux apartments. The maintenance workers are so nice and respond quickly to requests, the office staff are great, as are the cleaning staff. This is a great community, and I love living here.
Some of the residents don't respect shared spaces. They do not do there share to clean up after themselves.
Of no fault to Flux, the environment inside and outside of Flux didn't feel safe. I moved in when there was (for the most part) around the clock security. When we needed it the most, it wasn't there. Then, when our city was burning and all amenities had been closed due to COVID 19, my rent still increased when in reality everywhere else was offering breaks deals on new leases/giving discounts on current leases due to not being able to access what we were paying for. What I was paying for was astronomically high for what I was getting in the end.
It is incredibly loud at night and when I have called noise complaints I rarely get an answer. Also, the fire alarms have being going off a lot this spring and effect my sleep and work abilities.
flux is such a fun place to live! I love the location, amenities and apartment style
Lots of after hours noise and drunk people in halls, lots of parties happening w people running around maskless in halls and being disrespectful, amenity conflict issues with other residents not respecting rules.
Want more apartment events to be happening, and for the curfews on the amenities to be taken off, maintenance team is very fast!
The shape of the apartment was nice and clean. For the most part the sound does not carry within the building unless people are screaming in the hallway.
Good amenities and service. Price is high.
The size and pricing seemed a little bit more compared to others we toured. More money for less square feet
I love all the amenities and how modern the building feels. The location is also really perfect, all these wonderful restaurants and lakes nearby!
I really had high expectations when moving into this building coming from such a poorly ran property before, The Walkway. My main complaint about The Walkway when I looked to move into Flux was that I wasn’t ever able to use the hot tub. Moving here they assured me that the hot tub would be open and everything would always be open. One will I signed the lease and moved in that changed. They used COVID to lock down the building to maximize profits. Simpson property management spent money on an absurd amount of signs and stickers to remind you of their COVID rules. This place is run like a private high school. They have security enforced curfews in place. They don’t have the hot tub open, the sauna closed, coffee machine just opened, gym used to be 24 hours now that’s limited to 10, sky deck closes before sunset, pool and courtyard at 10, party room with the pool table at 8, etc. I have had leaking in my ceiling of my office, floor of my living room, dishwasher leaked all over, kitchen sink leaked all over, etc. There is mold growing under my floor and in my ceiling and they are trying to not let me out of my lease. They would rather have me live in a mold infested apartment vs let me move without charging me an early termination fee. I have tried to talk to management at Simpson Properties in Denver about this and have had zero response. This office staff onsite is great and very nice. The problem is they have little to no control over what happens here. They are essentially here to make you feel like the property management company cares. They don’t! I would’ve quit a long time ago if I were Hillary, Maddie, or Ashley. They are way to nice to tolerate the tyrannical upper management who creates these kindergarten like laws they enforce on their residents. If I were in charge of this building I would make sure that the residents were able to enjoy every moment they were back at home. Considering the fact that everyone is dealing with stress from Covid related regulations and restrictions outside of the walls here I would make sure they could enjoy their time at home. This place is becoming more and more vacant because every other building around us has lightened “restrictions” so residents can blow off some steam when they are home. DO NOT MOVE HERE! Every other building around here has every amenity open without enforcing “restrictions”. This place isn’t fun at all. It’s full of daily reminders that COVID is present and crime is skyrocketing around us.
Like all of these "luxury" apartments it's nice to have all of the bells and whistles, but all of the appliances are about as cheap as you can get. The staff is nice and helpful. Like others have said it has a bit of college-boy/frat environment. The excessive partying doesn't bother me (but I'm on the first floor and am surrounded by cement), but basically anything not nailed down (and some things that are) are ripe for the taking apparently. In my first month living here, my bike was stolen from the "secure" underground parking, and my lawn furniture was stolen from my patio. Impressive feats considering all of the cameras they have about the place. The location right off of the Greenway is great, and being so close to Hennepin and Lake is super convenient. The only internet option available is XFINITY (Comcast), so that's terrible and overpriced, and the energy bill is surprisingly expensive (probably cheaped out again on HVAC appliances). Very pet friendly, with a convenient little off-leash dog park for the residents, and a pet wash station too. If you're looking to continue the college atmosphere, post-graduation, this a great place. Also having all of the amenities is super convenient. If you like being able to walk/bike most places, this is also a great option.

Thank you for the feedback! We pride ourselves on making Flux Apartments a great place to live and I'm happy to hear that overall you've had a positive experience so far. However, I am sorry about the theft issues. Please know we're working on solutions to these problems. Thanks again for your time and feedback and let us know if you'd like to speak about these concerns further.
Apartment is nice, amenities are good, covid has just made circumstances more difficult but I have always liked living here regardless.
This is a great apartment for people ranging from ages 25-35. It has a very lively and bright atmosphere...there is always something going on (brunch, happy hours, dog friendly events, etc.) The staff is super friendly and they always remember your name...impressive!!
Really expensive, people are not clear as to how much you are paying; beware of concessions, they have yet to honor the ones that we agreed on our lease.
I moved here from Brooklyn, NY and never had a chance to tour the area before moving in. I signed my lease online and moved in the first time I set foot in Minneapolis. Pros: - Location location location - if you're mid 20s to mid 30s, living in the heart of Uptown is pretty sweet. Lake Calhoun within walking distance, the Greenway entrance couldn't be any closer, tons of restaurants and bars, lots of people, and it's pretty easy to get on any major road from here too. - Underground parking. It may cost an extra $100 a month but it is absolutely worth it; with all the terrible weather and lack of parking, indoor parking is a major plus. - Amazing concierge. They are all incredibly nice and helpful. Plus, they receive all your packages and deliver them to your apartment - if you're not home, they leave them inside your apartment! - Living ion the first floor, I have my own exterior walk-out; super convenient and makes it 100% easier to have guests over. - POOL! Amazing pool, hot tub and outdoor area will a full bar set up, multiple grills, bags, and more. So. Many. Activities. - The Indoor club rooms have a pool table, full kitchens, Mac computers, some other game I can't remember the name of, a giant fire place and more. Pretty sweet if you have guests over and want a bigger space to hang. - Gym AND sauna - I love them both. I'm not a gym rat so the gym works perfectly for me, it's brand new and always seems clean. Cons: - I have many times felt like I am living in a frat house. The people who live here are within that mid 20 to mid 30 age range I mentioned, but some forgot "how to adult". It can be fun sometimes, but when you have to wake up at the crack of dawn and someone is relentlessly partying, it can get frustrating. The concierge is awesome though; if you call them, they will go knock on the door until the person shuts up! - The walls are paper thin. I moved from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor because the first floor has cement walls and ceilings - major improvement in sound! I could hear every conversation of my neighbors above and below me, and the "extracurricular activities" my neighbors engaged in nightly. Living on the first floor, I'm much happier. Coming from NYC, this apartment was "cheap" to me; but to MN standards, I realize it's pricey. I think it's worth it and highly recommend living on the first floor! I renewed my lease for another year so clearly it can't be that bad :)
