Property Ratings at Dixmyth Hills
3 months into living here, my car was stolen out the parking lot. They advertise they have security cameras. But they don’t work. Today someone came and banged on my door as loud as they possibly could for 10 mins straight. It’s just me and my 3 month old daughter, so I was terrified and didn’t answer the door. After 10 minutes the man leaves. 10 more minutes go by and I calm myself down and go into my room. All of a sudden my front door is unlocking. I quickly hid my infant in my closet in attempt to keep her safe. And went out there ready to defend to see two large men in my apartment saying they had a leak to repair. I’ve never had so much fear instilled into my body. This is a sketchy place and they definitely lying about the safety features. All people do is sell drugs in the parking lot. You will be scared to walk from the parking lot to your apartment. There are also bugs. The parking lots hill is like mt Everest and you will have difficulty carrying groceries, and car seats. Also in the winter you will not be able to go up the hill, you will slide down. It is very hard living here and I wish I would’ve done more research. Besides living right in the heart of Clifton, this place is trash.
I was at Dixmyth for 2 years (2017-2019) renting a one bedroom apartment. I chose Dixmyth because it was relatively cheap (should be cheaper) compared to other one bedroom apartments around UC’s campus. Pros: walking distance from UC. “Cheaper”. Large bedroom and living room. Free lot parking. Polite management. Cons: outdated appliances (AC unit, stove, heater, etc). No dishwasher, microwave or garbage disposal. AC unit does not cool the entire apartment (only the living room). Mice problem (you’ll definitely need to buy some traps). Sketchy with minimal security - cars were broken into and management did absolutely nothing. Only 2 washer/dryers for the ENTIRE complex. Complex looks rundown. Parking lot located on STEEP hill (when it snows, you’re going to really struggle getting up the hill). The fitness center you have access to at The Forum is awful, rundown, and not taken care of by anyone (dirty, dusty, OLD machines, etc). Honestly, I’m so glad I’m out of there. It was ok at the time because I didn’t have a whole lot of money to spend and it was adequate, but only turn to this place as a kind of last resort.
Awful management. Issues with roaches, mice, car break ins, etc. These people only care about taking your money. AVOID IF POSSIBLE.
