Darien is a coastal city in Fairfield County, near the border of Connecticut and New York. Its close proximity to Manhattan (plus local beaches!) makes Darien a great place to call home for those looking for big-city amenities and nightlife in a suburban locale.
The city is considered a “bedroom community” due to its lack of office spaces – meaning, most residents live in Darien but work outside of it like in nearby Stamford or New York City. Two Metro-North subway stations reside in Darien and provide easy travel to Grand Central Terminal or the remaining stops along New Haven Line. If you’re looking for fun, Darien is home to eleven parks, numerous country- and yacht clubs, plus public beaches on the Long Island Sound.
Like other large cities, Darien is divided into smaller subsections. Numerous restaurants surround the Darien Station, including the Melting Pot, Green & Tonic, Bodega Taco Bar, and Meatball & Co. bistro. Love to shop? Small, upscale boutiques thrive here.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Darien Commons
I love my apartment at the Darien Commons - and so do my dogs! It is filled with light thanks to the high ceilings and large windows! There is a very urban feeling about being able to walk out of the lobby and have access to so many retailers. I also like the worry-free ease of leaving town by simply locking my door and knowing that my car is safe in the garage.

It’s only about to be a month but I love my living experience here so far. Everyone from the staff and neighbors, including the furry friends have all been nice and easygoing. I definitely would recommend this property as a viable place to live as it’s convenience to the train station and I-95 makes it totally ideal for the daily commuter. The neighborhood is on the rise of coming up so I’m excited to be here for what’s to come when everything is completely up and running and vibrant!
