Let’s talk about the good first. The staff is excellent, very friendly and helpful. Maintenance is very fast and professional. The apartment itself are fairly new and really pretty nice. It’s within walking distance to (.75 miles) downtown and a nice park(across the street). South 16 is extremely noisy however. Medical helicopters, trains going by and the music venue right next to the apartment is disastrous. The apartments are decently insulated from the sound. But you can literally feel the train and bass from the music at Dr Pepper Park. The fire alarms go off and run everyone out of the building and the elevators stop working when you’ve got 11 bags of groceries is reallllly annoying. I’d say the price is a bit high for everything that is offered. But no bad things to say about staff and maintenance.

South16 management and maintenance is great. Location is bad, medflight and trains are awful. Dr Pepper park is very noisy. I can feel the bass in my apartment. Parking is horrendous. 1 Dr Pepper park event after another I have to park across the road in the parking garage.

The mountain view is breathtaking especially if there's a train passing by plus it's just a walking distance to my workplace.

I’ve loved my time here! Been at the South 16 for years, and I have no plans to leave anytime soon. The apartments are beautiful and spacious, the building is pet friendly, the residents are quiet professionals who don’t party (loudly), management and maintenance are great, and I do feel that the value is excellent. You get a *lot* of amenities here. It’s also safe and in a great and convenient location.

Great location. I love being near the river, and also near the Greenway. I do a lot of walks and bike riding, so this is very convenient for me, and the view of the river is peaceful.

The South 16 is a very nice and quiet apartment complex. They allow dogs but as a non dog owner I never have any trouble with them let alone see them. The staff do a great job and any maintenance needs are done within a day or so. All in all a great and safe place to call home.

It's so, convenient to everything to the best restaurants, and Tanglewood Mall is really being revamped nicely, and there's also easy access to all of the concerts and things going on in the city that's a great place!

Even though I am not a typical age of the residents at 16 South I do enjoy the convenience the elevators are great! Management is wonderful. So if your person over age 50 I would recommend if you have any type of arthritis or walking mobility issues that you consider South 16

South 16 at The Bridges, is the LOUDEST place I have ever lived. For context I used to live in Manhattan, and this apartment building is 10x.louder than the busiest city in the country. On the upside, management is nice as are the maintenance crew. There are lots of good places to go for a walk surrounding the building and it's easy access to 221 if you want to escape town easily. Gym and pool are well maintained.

I really can't recommend this place to anyone and wish I never moved here unfortunately. I really wanted to love this place, I love luxury apartment living and only lived in really nice places my whole life, this is really not that.

I've really enjoyed it its quiet, clean, and everyone has been helpful and respectful since I've moved in. Extremely dog friendly and near by a kayak launch, park, Starbucks, and access to the greenway for running or walking.

I love living at South16, the community is in a great location and they have the best amenities in the area. South16 is super close to downtown but far enough away that you don't have to deal with the noise and traffic. I have a great view from my apartment and my walk-in closet is huge. I definitely recommend living here!

Great location and convenient to downtown, carillon, 581. The trains in the yard are a nice touch and the Robine start in the background make it unique. Dog friendly as well!

South 16 is by far the best apartment community in Roanoke. The staff is professional, maintenance is quick to respond, the facilities are always clean. I feel very safe living here. Its very close to the greenway for biking and walking. A boat launch is literally in the backyard, great for kayaks, canoes, etc. Its less than 5 minutes to downtown Roanoke. Its close to shopping, dining, outdoor events, and more.

The apartment itself is very nice and the location is convenient, I do think that it is slightly overpriced and it is odd that parking is not included in the rent. The community management team seems to be doing well but the previous team was not good at all. The amenities are nice when they are available, the pool was closed for almost an entire month this summer and the elevators break at least once a month. Indoor bike storage is also advertised but I have been here for 10 months and have yet to find it. Overall the apartments are nice but they are a little pricey.

My apartment is so beautiful, and I have loved the local live music and fun monthly contests! South16 is really unique, convenient, quaint, and clean with awesome amenities I enjoyed so much this summer. Dustin in the office has been awesome and super helpful. Can't wait until the pool is open again next year! It was so nice this year and well-kept.

I truly enjoy living at South 16. It is close to downtown without being in the middle of everything. The apartments are new and high quality with granite counter tops, modern finishes, large bathrooms and closets, and every unit has a washer and dryer. The management team is very timely in their responses, and have always been willing to help answer my questions. The maintenance team also responds promptly to requests. Overall, South 16 is a great place to live!

South16 is amazing! The location and quality of the apartments and amenities cannot be beaten in Roanoke. My apartment is gorgeous. I love all the apartment's finishes, bright, oversized windows, and large closets. I also enjoy living right nextdoor to the Roanoke River Greenway and downtown. The management staff are helpful and communicative, and maintenance is quick, courteous, and thorough! It's been a great experience!

I absolutely love living here. Its such a great apartment and wonderful view of the mountain. Only drawback would be the noises from the train, dumpsters, very thin walls, and doors slam closed. So noises aside its a fantastic apartment!!

I'm a country girl. I dreaded the idea of living the city life. I'm pleasantly surprised at how cozy and quiet it is. The inside of the apartment is extremely quiet. The train is not loud. It can sound soothing. I feel safe. It's close to everything. Staff is friendly, available and accommodating. I like the city vibe.

I absolutely live the building and apartment itself! It feels pretty quiet on the inside. However, there are quite a lot of loud noises outside that can be heard on a regular basis that are bothersome. The trash comes multiple times a week which is very loud, the train comes more often than thought, theres a constant loud engine sound on the roof every minute that sounds like a huge engine shutting down that actually shakes the room some. The sounds from the Carilion lot behind the tracks can also be a noise factor. So overall its extremely noisy. But I do genuinely love the apartment and happy with my choice aside from all the sounds.

South Sixteen is a great place to live. The convenience to shops, restaurants, parks, and downtown fits my lifestyle. The management team is great too.

I would not consider South16 as luxury apartments though they are more modern than most apartments in the area. The location is great. The noise level is pretty high at times and the cleanliness of the community is very poor and lacking attention.

I really enjoy living at South16. The location is amazing with it's proximity to my work and all the things to do. I love my little apartment, the pet positive environment and how polite and considerate everyone here is. The staff has been amazing with how attentive and flexible they are in working with us. If you are looking for an efficient, worry free place to live with lots of friendly people you won't be disappointed here.

South 16 is a very safe and clean apartment complex with extremely friendly and competent office and service staff, that responds quickly to questions and the few maintenance issues that came up during my two year stay. It is located in South Roanoke with close access (walking distance) to great hiking trails, the Roanokes river greenway, restaurants, grocery stores and entertainment.

Noise from trains and trash trucks is excessive. When I visited the apt I was told the train was not frequent or overly noisy and that is just untrue. The frequency of the elevator being out is rather bothersome as well.
