Yes, it's called Capitol Hill -- but it isn't the capitol and there's no capitol building. So how did this Seattle neighborhood get its name? Back around 1900, a real estate developer renamed the burgeoning community from "Broadway Hill" to "Capitol Hill" because he wanted the capitol to be moved from Olympia to Seattle. That never happened, and the quirky neighborhood kept its new quirky name. Capitol Hill is the neighborhood for those who love nightlife. As Seattle's premier place to party, Capitol Hill is home to coffee houses, taverns, bars, nightclubs, and theaters.
Home to artists and musicians, Capitol Hill features a variety of festivals and events throughout the year, and it is home to the Capitol Hill Arts District. College students also find their way to the Hill, which is home to Seattle Central College and is just south of the University of Washington.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Capitol Building Apartments
This building is located in the heart of one of Seattle's most iconic and fastest developing neighborhoods. That being said, this is an old-world building with all of the implied old-world charm. My one-bedroom unit has large windows/window sills, hard wood floors, high ceilings, french doors separating the living room and bedroom, and a HUGE walking closet (big enough to be another bedroom, but no windows and awkwardly shaped). The unit faces Broadway Ave (a main thoroughfare through Capitol Hill) and the hustle and bustle that can be seen through the windows is almost as good as cable TV. The kitchen leaves a bit to be desired - it is small and there is not much counter space, but it can work depending on how much time you spend cooking and what your needs are. The unit is reasonably priced for this neighborhood, and rent includes all utilities except for internet access. Considering the proximity to Downtown and other neighborhoods, as well as public transit great connectivity (a subway station is opening literally across the street in 2016), this apartment is a great deal.
