Property Ratings at Camden Fairfax Corner
My original review was over 5,300 characters, but there's a 2,500 character limit, apparently. I've lived at Camden Fairfax Corner for over a year. Specifically, I live at 11885 Grand Commons Avenue (there are three or four buildings in the Camden complex). This review is based on my experience in this building, but I have some knowledge of the others. Fairfax Corner is nice. It's a well-kept town center; it has a decent number of amenities in walking distance; and it's in a great location within Northern Virginia--anywhere worth going is no more than 30 minutes away. The Camden apartment complex and its management is solidly average in almost every way. If you choose to live here, please, for your own sanity, at least follow this one piece of advice: do not live in building 11885. If you live on the side facing the restaurants, you'll be subject to a lot of people noise until 11:30 PM (when the restaurants close). The gym on the ground floor plays bass music so loud it will shake your walls. The patrons of the cigar shop post up and smoke cigars below your windows all evening. If you live on the side facing the alley and parking garage, you'll be subject to guys with extremely loud wannabe race cars driving up and down the five-story garage all hours of the day and night. You'll hear construction, truck loading/unloading, or the valet trash guys/shop employees dumping the trash. To top it off, you'll hear the convoy of trash trucks that come at 6 AM sharp and several more times every single day (except Sunday) to empty the four to six dumpsters I've seen out there. This all happens immediately below or across from your balcony and windows. Unless you're from New York and absolutely need to hear the sounds of the city to feel alive, DO NOT live in 11885. Everything echoes in the alley and I cannot express just how loud and distruptive the noise is. No matter where you live in 11885 (and probably to a slightly lesser extent the other buildings) you are going to hear the music the town center puts on every weekend. Live bands play in the plaza at the center of the town center or at restaurants in it most Fridays and Saturdays. Usually it's unpleasantly loud, like they've forgotten people live here. Just don't live in 11885. Probably don't live in 4231, either. Don't live on any side of any building that faces the actual active town center. Live somewhere quiet in 4241/4104. Everything else about this apartment complex is average.
I lived in Camden Fairfax Corner for just over two years. Here I am a month later and I still feel obligated to mention a few of the highlights while living there: 1. The maintenance team was absolutely top notch. Always responsive and courteous. Constantly maintaining the property. 2. The apartment was beautiful. Not a single day went by that I wasn't proud of where I lived. 3. The location. Close to 66/metro. Surrounded by some of the nicest restaurants this area has to offer. And last but not least, 4. Abdul. I've lived in a lot of different places in my life and never have I ever had a property manager like Abdul. I could write reason after reason as to why Abdul helped make Camden a great place to live, but I'm going to sum it up by saying, "Abdul made me feel that he actually cared. Not only by the things he said, but by his actions and follow though. Thank you again, for everything."

I lived at Camden for a year, but moved out recently to be closer to family. For the most part, I really enjoyed living there. It was a really nice studio apartment for the price. I definitely felt like I got my monies worth, especially since garage parking is free and the cable/wifi are packaged with the rent. Best deal in the DMV area. It's also located in a shopping center with lots of restaurants which really came in handy during the pandemic. I never had any maintenance issues while staying there. However, the biggest issue for me was the noise. The walls are paper thin and my neighbors were pretty obnoxious when it came to noise. Despite being in a pandemic, they often like to have loud social events in the evenings, continuing way into the early morning. The 11885 building is definitely the nicest building since it's indoors, but beware if you're moving into an apartment next to the garage. You will constantly hear vehicles revving up their loud engines every day and be disturbed by the dump trucks every morning and afternoon. Lastly, the lack of a mail room in 11885 is still a bit of issue. The delivery persons are supposed to deliver packages to your door, but depending on the person, they may leave it at the front entrance where anyone on the street can easily take it. Fortunately, I never had any issues with missing packages but lots of people have complained about missing packages or packages being delivered to the wrong door/building. Other than that, the staff is usually happy to help how they can and quick to respond.

I would highly recommend living anywhere other than this apartment building. The location is amazing but you will pay for that these apartments are overpriced for the quality of service you receive. The apartment which I rented has flooded six times. The reasons include poor maintenance on the outside of the property which caused water to run into the walls and flood first floor apartments. Other reasons include problems with plumbing from other apartments. The apartment complex has responded to this problem and other problems poorly. There have been other maintenance issues which is apartment complex has hired unqualified third-party companies causing massive problems. The office staff and the owners do not take responsibility for issues on this property. When I saw the review claiming the apartments are concrete encased, I had to write one of my own to call out that lie. If it is, it's the worst quality concrete in the world because I had noise issues with my downstairs neighbor. Loud, thumping music was heard easily. Aside from that, you can corridor doors slamming all the time through your own apartment door. It's just the way the place is designed... the doors in the corridor are heavy, so they slam. People have different schedules and will return home at different times, so you'll hear these doors slam intermittently through the day and night. I will say that some of the staff was polite and helpful. Namely, Abdul. For me, that couldn't make up for the hopelessly noisy environment.

I've been living at the Fairfax Corner Camden Apartment complex for almost a full year. I was impressed from day one by their professionalism and sincere desire to provide the best service, from maintenance to keeping the community clean and secure. I rent a 2 bedroom apartment and would recommend it to anyone based on my highly selective criteria: 1. The rental apartments are built on concrete floors, so you don't hear the typical noise of people running down the hall, over your head, or the footsteps on wooden steps like all other communities. 2. I happen to be very picky about not hearing noises of people stomping over my head at night, and the solid construction of the flooring here helps a lot. Simply put, the building standard here is just much higher, as well as the interior finishes. 3. In general, the entire complex is secured and one feels comfortable walking around, inclusive of a secured garage. you don't have to worry about your car being vandalized like in 'open parking spaces' outside. 4. The management team is outstanding in keeping the community clean and you know you get what you paid for happily. 5. No better location in Fairfax. You are literally a brisk walk from Wegman's or just walk around the square to Uncle Julio's, Coastal Flats or PF Changs, Starbucks or Chipotle. 6. If you've got a pet like I do, you have multiple paths to go on nice walks with a strict clean zone that is well kept. 7. Probably the best sign of a well-managed community is the management team. They are engaged, always respond within minutes, online or by phone, and have been very responsive to any issue that came up. Abdul, the manager, is delightful and has a very positive attitude and makes it a point to show he cares, as the rest of the maintenance crew. So, if you are even comparing your options, to anywhere nearby Fairfax Corner Camden, and you are a professional with standards, it's five stars for this place. One can't ask for more given the comparison to other communities around that look shabby, uncared for or simply poorly managed. Keep it up guys!

I freakin love living here. The location is great since it's pretty much central to surrounding cities. Living in Fairfax Corner is also great because we have Crafthouse that has a great HH and other restaurants to grab a bite to eat. As far as the actual apartment goes, I'm obsessed. I love coming home and walking into my apartment. I love my layout and I have a kitchen island! Maintenance and Management are punctual with requests and actually listen you. Basically, I'm a big fan.

This is a great place to live. The management has been great since I've lived here; over 3 yrs now. The manager is very proactive and friendly. The maintenance/service is also very good. A ways back my AC needed to be checked (strange noises). They were on it right away and fixed, with no hassle. I also like that they have upgraded all the lights(LED) in the hallways and on the rest of the property. Nice and bright now! I have one of the upgraded units, and its very nice. Also these seem well built. I haven't had any serious sound/noise problems. Also, you can't beat the location. Nothing like being able to walk out and grab a bite to eat, or movie, even coffee.

Uju was amazing, in every way, when dealing with my relocation from out of state. She quickly responded to my (sometimes many) e-mails, and never displayed any irritation. During my move-in, one or two things were off, but she quickly resolved them, and kept her word about everything we discussed prior to my lease signing. Pros 1. Quiet area, close to many restaurants and Fair Oaks Mall 2. Clean community 3. One bedroom renovated unit is nice, with ample living space 4. Most of the staff is very friendly, so far. 5. I didn’t think I’d like the cable and internet being included in the rent, but it’s actually a very good deal. The internet is fast, and the channels are plentiful. Cons 1. Trash sometimes gets backed up, but it’s usually cleaned up within hours. There are a lot of residents here, so it’s understandable. 2. Living room paint seems to only have one coat, and shows the underlying paint easily. The leasing office has offered to provide touch-up paint. 3. There’s not a lot of storage space in the unit, so if you have tons of stuff, it might be time to consider donating. 4. The internet is great, but it periodically needs to be reset. I’m only a few weeks in, so I’ll update my post towards the end of my lease.
