The vibrant traditions and culture of the south come alive in Memphis, a robust and historic Mississippi riverfront community of over 600,000 neighbors. Memphis is legendary as an incubator for American musical titans, with landmarks like Sun Studios, the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, and Graceland serving as some of the city’s most popular attractions for visitors. The city’s musical tradition continues today, with a packed roster of live music representing every conceivable genre. Just as famous as the music is the food, with Memphis-style barbecue widely available and internationally recognized as a true American delicacy.
But beyond the neon of Beale Street, Memphis offers a delightful living experience steeped in southern charm and modern flair. The cost of living is quite affordable, with apartments, condos, and houses to fit any budget. The rental market is incredibly diverse, from urban efficiency apartments to stunning historic homes on sleepy suburban streets.

Property Ratings at Cabinet Shop Lofts
I lived in these apartments with my fiance for one year and we had problems from the moment we put a deposit down. At first, we thought they looked great. We were shown an apartment on the third floor with wood flooring. We were told that our apartment would be ready to move into in March of 2015, it was two months later before we were able to move in. The "stained concrete floors" were nothing more than a poorly laid concrete floor with a splotchy sealant which was splattered all over the new appliances and walls before we moved in. The bathroom floor did not even have a stain or any sort of sealant, It was a raw concrete floor. We had a crack running through the length of our living room the extended to the apartments on either side. There was a hole in the bathroom door upon moving in and we had leaking pipe for the first 3 months which dripped a slippery substance in the center of our bedroom entrance and made a dark greasy stain. There version of "fixing it" the first three times was to wrap tape on the exposed pipe and pour cat litter on the stain. The roof leaked every time it rained and the walls were paper thin. You could hear a normal conversation in the apartment next door. The fire alarm went off at least once every couple weeks and would beep for days before being shut off. There was only one exit to our apartment and the windows would not open so I'm not really sure how they passed fire code. Needless to say we moved out as soon as our lease was up. We were clean and quite tenants and prompt with our rent. It has been 3 months since we moved out and we have yet to receive our deposit back. It has gotten to the point where we are going to the office weekly to try and find out what the delay is. The owner of the property is never available and will not answer phone or messages. I would not recommend this place to my enemy, the owner doesn't care about the property or the tenants.
