The School neighborhood is a small neighborhood along the MacArthur Freeway near Oakland’s Dimond District. The homes represent an eclectic mix of historic architectural styles, including many beautifully restored Victorians. Fruitvale Elementary School and Saint Jarlath School, both on the north end, give local students the option of walking to class quickly and safely.

A few blocks to the north, a small shopping and dining district surrounds the intersection of Fruitvale and MacArthur, giving folks a convenient area to hop in and pick up groceries or a bite to eat.
