I just moved in Oct 2024, but it’s been a really pleasant experience. The package delivery service is very convenient. So it the valet trash pick up. Having a parking garage as the weather gets bad is clutch as well! I’m sure there are kids somewhere in these apartments, but in the 2.5 months I’ve been here, it’s so quiet! I love the peace! My unit is equipped with speakers to play music. It’s lovely! And it’s in a perfect location downtown!

DONT LIVE HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR PACKAGES DELIVERED & YOUR ITEMS SECURE Probably the biggest mistake to rent at this place. FOB entries are broken at multiple locations. Everyone gets their packages stolen all the time. Cars are not safe in the garage. Webs & chipped paint all over the building. Management isn’t very helpful either and is known to be rude. P.S. A decent amount of the 5 or 4 star reviews are either from over 2 years ago or from accounts that only have 2/3 reviews in total. So, be careful Edit after mgmt’s comment: I have already contacted the management about it and things never got fixed. Fobs are still broken, anyone can enter the building/floors and the back stairwell hasn’t been cleaned in at least 2 months. Edit june 2024: I have had at least 3/4 packages stolen in last 6 months. The security in this property is a joke. Two months ago there was a thief going around stealing packages that the residents were able to notice but the apartment building didn’t take any action.

Staffs are so friendly. Manager Andrea is so wonderful, attentive and helpful. The maintenance crew are also very helpful in making sure the job is done right. Geoffrey is very amazing!! The community is a safe place to live !! Overall, i haven’t have any issues as a resident!!

Abstract at Design District has an amazing location and multiple floor plan options. The staff were very warm and helpful throughout the process of visiting and leasing. The amenities are also great! Haven't been able to use the pools yet but looking forward to it this summer. Highly recommend you check out this community.

This apartment complex suffers from security issues both in the parking garage and the apartment complex itself. Many residents have had a serial package thief for months now stealing packages and opening them at the bottom of the stairwell or in the gym. Many of the FOB access points are constantly either broken or propped open. The garage door is broken often and as a result, several vehicles every single month are either stolen or broken into. Many apartments have been broken into this year at this complex. Additionally, there is a huge trash problem. There's a bunch of trash in the hallways, in the mailroom, in the parking garage, and the trash chute/trash rooms are consistently overflowing. The dog parks reek of urine as do the stairwells and hallways in the complex because there's a bunch of irresponsible dog owners that live here. The walls are paper thin and many residents will host house parties on the weekends. If you value safety or peace of mind, do not live here.

I've been at this community for over 5 years. It's always been a decent place to call home. Since the new management company took over last year, the property had been getting better all around...And, the location is one of the best in Dallas for convenience to shopping, restaurants, venues of all kinds, etc. I would definitely recommend to rent here...

As I type this, I'm now eight months in as an Abstract at Design District resident. My initial application process was smooth and handled with sincerity (minus some technical faults, non-human). Office staff's communication was fine tuned. The building's entry ways are considerably spacious for actual move ins (including elevators). Parking is fair and somewhat secure (victim of break in recently). My chosen unit only needed minor touches during move in - very clean and breathable. Surrounding noise isn't overwhelming but choose your floor plan wisely. I'm satisfyingly staying longer, I hope my review rocks. : )

These apartments are in bad shape. There’s mold growing in the apartment, constant flooding, poor craftsmanship on cabinets, lose power for five days and management ignores the problem and does nothing. The apartment’ amenities are cheep. The refrigerator looks like it was purchased at a second hand store. This place is simply awful don’t waste you time.

The price is good and the location is good, but security could be a little better. It is an older location but they are doing renovations on it so it is looking great. The leasing office is overworked so communication isn’t the greatest but it is getting better. The first couple months of moving in were rocky, but things are getting better here. It is a little loud sometimes, but most neighbors try to respect each other. Erica in the leasing office is great and some of the maintenance guys are fantastic! It’s a good place to rent from if you want nicer and not as expensive.

Waterton does an excellent job of maintaining the property. The leasing, management and maintenance staffs listen to the needs of the tenants. They quickly resolve any issues and are very friendly. Abstract is located in a great area of Dallas. Within minutes to the airport, many great restaurants, and other attractions Dallas has to offer.

The complex is great for location and the updated interior apartment units but the security isn’t at the priority of management.

I've been living here for 3 months. This is my first time living in a 1 bedroom apartment and in a building like this, so I have nothing to compare it to. Considering it a luxury apartment, it seems a bit run down. It's so odd that all the door locks and handles are either broken or on their way to being broken. I don't think there are many door handles that feel perfectly solid. Emailing the staff has been hit or miss. I've gotten some responses and other times, I didn't get anything. Phone calls seem impossible. I haven't once gotten a voicemail returned. Now I just walk 70 seconds to the office to discuss concerns or get my questions answered

I moved from the belt renovated Village hub and for many weeks I agonized about moving due to all of the amenities I enjoyed there. However, the convenience to downtown, quality of amenities and the reasonable pricing was such a steal and I can't believe I almost missed this lovely opportunity.

Been such a great experience from the time I applied to living here now. Amber, the property manager is by far the best to work with always available when any issues have came up. Melina is great and always smiling every time I have encountered her. I would highly recommend this place.
This property has a great location to downtown and easy acess to major highways in Dallas! The property has a trail that runs in the back that is great For runs or for walking your dog.

I am absolutely obsessed with where I live and have been extremely happy with Alta Strand from day one going on two years. I love my design district neighborhood and being able to enjoy walking around to support the local businesses. Being right next to the Trinity Strand trails really adds a wonderful experience for me and my pet. Not to mention having the Downtown skyline views from the property, just stunning. Two resort style pools, four resident courtyards with fire pits, two level gym and gorgeous club rooms to use. It’s just the lifestyle I dreamed of.
Where do I begin? My roommate and I moved in September 2017. Excited about the location, we signed our lease in earnest. Our excitement was amplified by the fact that we were told we would receive a $300 gift card within 30 days of moving in! Unfortunately, our elation would precipitously decline at a steady pace for the duration of our stay. This is due largely to the gross incompetence of Amber, the property manager. Though she seemed genuine during our tour, her demeanor swiftly turned supercilious after we had signed on the proverbial dotted line. After 2 months of living here, we made several inquiries about the status of the aforementioned gift card, only to have her inform us that there was nothing she could to to expedite our receipt thereof. When all was said and done, 90 days elapsed before it was received. This may seem trivial, but our travails had only just begun to manifest themselves. Let’s address the parking situation. For residents, if you arrive home any time after 7pm, be prepared to park on the roof of the garage, not on your corresponding floor. This because the garage itself is woefully equipped to adequately house the very tenants who pay for its use. Regarding the visitor parking situation, do you like having friends and family come visit? TOO BAD. Alta Strand literally only has ~30 visitor parking spots available...for their entire complex. Even if your friends or family are lucky enough to find a visitor spot, cars are routinely towed for little or no explanation whatsoever. Finally, this apartment was brand new when we moved in. Nevertheless, the elevators were broken for weeks on end with no action taken to repair them or explain the reason they were so frequently out of commission. One could ride up to their floor to retrieve something from their apartment, only to return to a defunct elevator moments later. Additionally, the power routinely goes out, and the fire alarms ring out with a frequency that rivals one’s alarm clock. I give you these examples to encourage you to think long and hard before agreeing to remain shackled to this place for 12 months. These trials are simply inexcusable for a brand new apartment complex and they were exacerbated by Amber and her oft laissez-faire attitude towards prompt rectification of frequently recurring issues. While the location is one of the better ones in the Design District area, for the exorbitant price tag, you can do much better for yourself with the same rent money elsewhere.
I've been super pleased with my decision to move to Alta Strand. It is close to where I work and dine. I got in when it was a new construction. There were a few growing pains initially, however, the front office staff have been very attentive and responsive in addressing any issue with this property. I especially like the engagement activities which provide an opportunity to get to know my neighbors and win great prizes. Kela L.
I've been here at Alta Strand for over 6 months, and am still super happy here! My unit is beautiful, and I have a dream closet I don't want to leave. Any minor maintenance issue I've had was met with a very quick fix by the maintenance staff, and the front desk is always super sweet and helpful with anything brought their way. My roommate and I will be renewing!
I've lived here for about two months now and couldn't be happier that I chose Alta Strand as my home. The amenities are great, the decor is beautiful, and Joanna has been so kind and helpful from the moment I toured the community. Plus you get the best of both worlds with the location - I can take a walk on the trail right outside my door or be in downtown in minutes.
My husband and I have been living here for 6 months and it has been a wonderful experience. Almost every month there is a mixer for all pet owneers to mingle and get to know other owners/pets. The staff is friendly and willing to assist when issues arise. The complex’s is clean and well kept. My husband and I are so happy we chose Alta Strand as our new home.
I'm currently on my second lease here at Alta Strand. Truly enjoy living here, especially in the summer months. Both Pools are great and well maintained. The staff in the front office are top notch and always handle any issues in a timely matter. My lease will be up in June of 2019 and I can't imagine leaving this great location.
i have lived at Alta Strand since June 2018 and it has been great! all the amenities are nice and new, there is never a problem with noise, and the staff is so friendly. they put on great events for the residents all the time, too. Alta Strand also has the best maintenance team- they are so quick to respond to issues and get them resolved instantly. ubers to any of the local neighborhoods for night life (uptown, deep ellum, knox/henderson, etc.) are about $10 so everything is easily accessible without all the traffic congestion/noise. -- from aliss226
I moved to Alta Strand back in October. The application process from the visit to the lease signing was always very friendly and welcoming. Jordynn gave me a great tour around the whole place, and always made me feel very comfortable to ask questions and discuss anything about the apartment and the complex. Joanna helped me a lot through the application process by being clear and making sure I gather the correct necessary information for the approval. Melina always keept up with next steps and she communicated any messages, or follow up calls, with me or the girls, in a timely manner. Those 3 girls can make the burnden of looking for a new home so muxh easier because they work great together. Thank you Jordynn, Joanna, and Melina!

Hands down best apartment community around!!! My apartment is beautiful and I have a great view. The amenities are beast and the office people are great. The manager Amber is one of the best I’ve had she is always asking what we would like to see or what we want to do. So refreshing to have a voice at my apartment community. Jordan and Patrick are always so friendly and even Jonathan the maintenance man is nice, I never have a bad day at home with this crew. Even small issues that arise they make better, thanks Alta. First time I can truly say I’ve felt at home at an apartment complex.
