We're renting out our 3-bedroom, 2 full bath single family home in Ice Pond Woods in Amherst, MA. This house is a ~10 drive from UMass and Hampshire College. Move-in date is flexible, ideally Dec 1, 2026, but good with January or February too. Lease is 12 months with option for renewal. Gas heating and Central AC. There is a useable wood stove + fire place (wood stove does a great job heating up the house & cutting on gas bill!). In-unit washer and dryer. Use of detached garage included. Electric, gas, and wifi not included. This is a really fantastic family home — extremely quiet neighborhood, wooded, lots of trails nearby, very sweet neighbors. The house will be largely unfurnished — although we can leave a few things, if the renter would like them. No cats. Dogs are allowed — but our neighborhood HOA does not allow certain large breeds, such as pitbulls, dobermans, german shepards, etc. Please let me know what kind(s) of dogs you have and I can confirm if they're permitted! Currently we have a greyhound living here and she loves it :) Please let me know if you have any questions at all — we're very flexible and would love to show you the place!

Academia is not in short supply in Amherst. The town, also nicknamed “Knowledge Corridor,” houses three out of five institutions of the Five College Consortium, including Amherst College, Hampshire College, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. So they really know their stuff here!

Amherst Town Common is a large green space along North Pleasant Street, an ideal location for a pick-up Frisbee game or relaxing with a favorite novel under an oak tree.
