This has been our home for the last 7 years and upgrades were made with livability in mind. We’re excited to share our home with you now! About the home: -Inside space: 2 bedrooms w closets, jack n jill bathroom w claw foot tub, large LR/DR, small office space, remodeled cook’s kitchen, original hardwood floors throughout -Outside space: parking behind gate, 7 chickens (5-7 eggs daily!), garden beds, landscaping, patio -Location: Central to everything yet quiet neighborhood on one of Oakland’s “slow streets.” Short walk to farmer’s market, coffee shops (Sweet Adeline) & bars (Hoi Polloi) in S Berkeley’s Lorin district, many parks including Bushrod’s de facto dog park. Longer walk or bike ride for Ashby, MacArthur or Rockridge BART and Temescal or Rockridge or Emeryville neighborhoods. Super close to all N Oakland & Berkeley hospitals. And don’t forget Berkeley Bowl! -Pets negotiable with extra deposit -Washer/dryer onsite -Water/trash paid for by us; PGE/internet by you. Set up for Sonic fiber (cheap, fast internet) -Your landlords are real people! I’m a nurse practitioner and my husband is a school counselor. We’ve been managing the downstairs unit for years though so we’re not new to “landlording”—we’re here to help and we’re just moving across town. -Storage negotiable (we have a garage currently used by a woodworker. Do you woodwork? We might be able to negotiate something.) -Comes unfurnished (pictures taken while we still live here) About you: -In exchange for more eggs than you can eat, you’ll be glad to help with daily chicken & garden upkeep. Of course, we’ll take care of more major work (occasional trimming, weeding, improvements & repairs) -You are kind and courteous (no smoking whatsoever, no parties). Your downstairs neighbor is elderly and like part of our family. She’s lived here for six decades. She is a lovely person and it’s important to us that she has peace and quiet. -We’re looking for tenants who can stay for 12 to 24 months. While we want you to feel totally at home the moment you move in, if you’re looking for a “forever home,” this may not be the spot for you. Please tell us about yourself in the application!
