CARRIAGE HOUSE: Originally for horses, now good for single car and/or space for storage or art studio, etc. BEDROOMS: Basically the house has a large master bedroom in the front and three small bedrooms. BATHROOM: The bathroom is lovely, redone in carrera marble. Charming clawfoot tub. But, there is only the one. RAW BASEMENT: This is a real BONUS of the house. Unlike nearly every row house in DC, there is no separate basement unit rented out. Other than a full washer and dryer the space is empty and ready for your personal vision. That's 700sq ft of storage space, a personal gym, a woodworking shop, a bike repair area, or just enjoy the feeling of not having a downstairs neighbor. GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD. Big Bear, Boundary Stone, Showtime, Rustic, District Yoga(etc). Close bus stops take you downtown and to georgetown. Metro is a 10 minute walk. Capital bike share on our block. It's a great location. Close walk to the happenings on U Street but far enough away that the people around the hood are actually neighbors (which changes everything!). UTILITIES: (electric + gas + water + cable/internet) are all separate and will be in your name and based on your usage. They run about $400 average including winter months. It's radiator heat in the winter and A/C window units in the summer. LEASE: One year minimum. Two preferred. One month security deposit. Pets will be evaluated on a case by case basis and will require additional security deposit and potentially additional rent. Neighborhood

Roughly two miles north of the eastern end of the National Mall, Bloomingdale is a small neighborhood of about 12 blocks. It extends from Channing Street south to Florida Avenue, on the southeast side of Howard University. Bloomingdale is literally picture-perfect -- it was even featured in the opening credits of the Netflix series, House of Cards. The colorful brownstones with turrets aren't all people love about this popular neighborhood. It is the location of Crispus Attucks Park, a popular green space with terrific views.

Bloomingdale contains two commercial districts. The first, along Rhode Island Avenue, is packed with bars and restaurants -- including popular favorites the Red Hen and Bacio Pizzeria. Florida Avenue and North Capitol Street also offer restaurants, bars, and a few other businesses. While Bloomingdale doesn't have its own Metro station, bus stops are scattered throughout the neighborhood, taking residents quickly to nearby stops or into downtown DC.
