Pass through the front door and find yourself in a gracious central foyer equipped with a modular Elfa coat closet and plenty of space to welcome you and your guests. The tranquil living area with Northeastern exposure boasts large windows, another Elfa closet, and roominess that invites your furniture to become a fixture. Across the foyer, opposite from the living area, a generous kitchen with stone countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a gas-burning range awaits. Beyond the kitchen, the best is yet to come. Step down into a dynamic den that beckons to be your office, library, gym, or a combination of all your accessory purposes. Laden with windows, and sills fit for foliage, this amazing space provides great views of the common lawn and private access from the unit from the condominium walks. If you have furry friends, this is sure to be your "doggy-door" and/or "CATio". The third path off of the foyer leads you to your me-space. A laundry closet houses stacked ventless washer & dryer units. The bathroom has a black-and-white aesthetic with a subway-tiled shower, cohesive tile flooring, and matching wall paint, and, yet another window to keep the space airy. Across from the bathroom is your place of rest. Your bedroom has plenty of space for a queen bed (or larger), nightstands, drawers, and last, but not least, a third Elfa closet. The Whittier Gardens Condominium offers unfussy community amenities within the building and a vast courtyard green space just outside your doors. In addition to in-unit laundry, you also have access to a shared washer/dryer for larger textiles. A bike room and a unit-dedicated storage space are also included. The HOA has you covered for landscaping, trash removal, and commons repairs as well. Takoma is a fan favorite for those in the know. A true neighborhood, Takoma is filled with vibrance with local vendors that cater to food, fashion, and culture, along with horticulture. Safeway grocery is a 3/4 mile walk from your front door. Neighborhood

Brightwood's western edge consists of part of Rock Creek Park, a large park covering 1,754 acres. The park includes a tennis center, a golf course, horse trails, a playground, picnic areas, hiking trails, boathouses, and the historic site Fort DeRussy. Brightwood begins along Military Road and extends north to roughly Aspen Street. Fort Stevens, located near Georgia Avenue, is a popular historic park featuring Civil War fortifications and hiking and bicycling trails. Also located in the neighborhood, the Fort Stevens Recreation Center offers a playground, tennis court, and a water feature.

Situated north of 16th Street Heights and south of Shepherd Park, Brightwood is a popular and growing neighborhood, known for its row houses. Because it is in the northern section of DC, doesn't have a Metro station, and is completely residential without the presence of bars and nightlife, Brightwood hasn't been on the radar of most Washingtonians -- until now.
