Yes, it's called Capitol Hill -- but it isn't the capitol and there's no capitol building. So how did this Seattle neighborhood get its name? Back around 1900, a real estate developer renamed the burgeoning community from "Broadway Hill" to "Capitol Hill" because he wanted the capitol to be moved from Olympia to Seattle. That never happened, and the quirky neighborhood kept its new quirky name. Capitol Hill is the neighborhood for those who love nightlife. As Seattle's premier place to party, Capitol Hill is home to coffee houses, taverns, bars, nightclubs, and theaters.
Home to artists and musicians, Capitol Hill features a variety of festivals and events throughout the year, and it is home to the Capitol Hill Arts District. College students also find their way to the Hill, which is home to Seattle Central College and is just south of the University of Washington.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at 525 Federal
The units are quite small but it's really affordable for the location. Very close to light rail, Broadway and the parks, without being subject to much noise. The management is great, super friendly, flexible and approachable, it's so rare to find a place not owned by a mega-corporation with management you can actually reason with rather than deal with levels of bureaucracy.
We lived here for five years. Typical apartment living. Issues that arose were swiftly handled. While the owner became hard to contact at times, we had a great relationship with the building manager and learned to communicate through her. While the units are on the small size for the price, you’re paying for the location which is central to everything Capitol Hill has to offer. Rent increases were very reasonable and even paused during COVID.
Only reason for 2 stars is the location; absolutely perfect. Quick walk to grocery stores, the library, the light rail, and even popular bars and clubs. However, you pay for location and location only. It felt like a shoebox. An extra $50 a month is tacked on to your lease that they don't really tell you about unless you read the fine print. That fee is several months delayed too. Two months worth was deducted from our deposit when it was returned a month after move out. I had packages stolen not once but twice, and management said the surveillance system was conveniently down during the select hours my package should have been there. Paper thin walls so you can hear your neighbors serenading their cats at 11pm and upstairs tenants flushing toilets at 5am. Takes days if not weeks to hear back from your landlord between calls, texts, and emails.
