Honestly, living at 420 East Ohio Street in Chicago has been great. The apartments are big and the rent isn't crazy, plus the staff is super nice. They've got a gym, pool, mailroom, and storage which is a huge plus. The neighborhood is really quiet and safe, which I love. Definitely would recommend living here if you're looking in Chicago.

I’m an international student and living at 420 E Ohio has become a nightmare. Since the apartment's AC was turned on, I’ve been suffering from unbearable noise from the rooftop water tower that makes it impossible to sleep. At first the manager said they cannot do anything and let me get out of the office and said "your room is habitable enough". After repeated complaints, management said they will try to expedite repairs but now say it will still take a month, with no alternative solutions or compensation offered. When I asked nothing but just to terminate my lease legally under RLTO, they coldly rejected it, claiming the noise is “reasonable” without any measurement report, even though I've tested it exceeds 50 dB at night in my room and I was feeling like sleeping on the railway! This isn’t just my own problem—residents on multiple floors are affected, but management still lets us wait for one whole month for repairing, bearing the noise by ourselves. Clearly they care more about collecting rent than the well-being of their tenants. If you value your peace and health, I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

The team at 420 is amazing!! They are a true sense of what makes a wonderful community. They care about their residents, even to the point of offering wonderful events to keep the residents smiling. I especially love the way they take care of the building: polishing floors, shampooing carpets, garage cleaning, window washing, organizing the mail room etc. The maintenance team responds quickly to any apartment issues we might have - even changing the batteries in the smoke alarm!! Amazing!! 420 East Ohio is a wonderful place to live!

Great experience. I love my new apartment. Big and clean. Service is good. However, blinds have almost no shading effect, if you want to sleep well, you must be paired with another curtain. In addition, the other apartments that my classmates live in are not charged a non-refundable guarantee fee of $450, but 420 is charged this money. The public facilities of the building are general, if the requirements for public facilities are high, it is not recommended to live here.

Would give zero star if I could. This was a horrible experience with property management. I'm deeply disappointed with the irresponsibility and unprofessionalism of the management here. We reserved an apartment approx. two month prior to our move from out of state (1k miles away~), on our first day of move, six days prior to arriving to Chicago, we were noticed by the email that our apartment at 420 E Ohio got cancelled due to the prior resident refused to move out. Such a short notice! We have to find a new place to live in six days while on the road for not being in a homeless status, a ton of emails and calls each day on top of driving 200 miles a day. Carlos emailed us the first few days and said they might work it out... Later he just totally disappeared...No response for our emails and calls at all. WOW. Three wks passed, I'm still trying to get the deposit back but cannot get hold of the manager.

Nice and efficient leasing team. Very responsive to all kinds of questions. The management team is very helpful whenever I need assistance. The unit is clean which saved me a lot of effort in cleaning when moving in. The only downside is that I can hear each and every person coming in or out of this floor since my unit is directly facing the elevators.

420 East Ohio is a great community right in the heart of streeterville. It can offer great amenities and views without the unreasonable price. Walking distance from the beach, Northwestern, and many local amenities makes it a great place to live.
Dont move in to begin with. Management is horrendously incompetent & could care less about the community, let alone you as a resident trying to make this your home!

420 east ohio has the best community. The staff are amazing and are a pleasure to see every day when I go to work. They are always looking for different ways to engage the community like parties, happy hour, and morning dunkin'donuts. It's been 3 years since I've started living here, and I enjoy it everyday

420 E. Ohio apartments are in the perfect location! Super close to navy pier and the beach, Michigan Ave., the river walk, northwestern campus, target, bockwinckles, and more! Very clean and nice building with upgraded appliances and well maintained recreation areas!

The building is really well-maintained and has great amenities, including a very spacious workout room and pool. The outdoor space is also very nice to use in the warmer months. The units themselves are very spacious and the lakefront views are an added plus! Personally, I love the closet space -- including the walk-in next to the bedroom as well as the large closet at the front of the unit.

Moving to this building after living on the north side is a dream come true. I finally have a space to work from home, enjoy the Chicago summer and close to all my friends. The building is beautifully maintained and by far the nicest units/amenities I toured in Streeterville.

420 East Ohio is a great building in a great location. We live in a 3BR/3BA unit with a great view of the lake from a high floor. The building staff are great to work with and the building amenities are in line with what you should expect at this price point. Great location and a great value.

420 East Ohio is managed extremely well. I have lived in buildings where this is not the case and it really makes a difference. The staff here are courteous, friendly, responsive and professional. Without good management and staff, an apartment building is just a building and quite frankly, can be horrid to live in. The staff at 420 East Ohio make it a great place to live.
