Welcome to Temple, Texas, where small-town hospitality meets healthcare innovation. Located in the heart of Central Texas, Temple offers renters a blend of city conveniences and suburban living, with average rent prices ranging from $768 for studios to $1,667 for three-bedroom homes. The medical district, anchored by Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, serves as the city's economic center. The historic downtown district features preserved buildings housing local businesses, while the neighborhoods near Temple College add to the city's residential appeal.
Temple's outdoor spaces include Miller Park and Lions Park, offering walking trails and recreational facilities. The Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum, located in the restored Santa Fe Depot, preserves the city's railroad history dating back to 1881. The city earned its early nickname "Tanglefoot" from its muddy streets during its railroad town beginnings.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at 4 Hundred Apartments
This place has bugs and nothing that is " remodeled is done properly " so what you pay is over priced really, this place should be looked into for many things among one being black mold in some units...
They will show you a model unit and have you thinking everything is nice and ready to go but when it was time to get my keys, they switched my unit without informing me until I called. The unit they switched me from was still dirty and had so many roaches, just disgusting. Why would you show a dirty unit in the first place. They said I couldn’t get my keys because they couldn’t get the roaches out I had a option to stay or get my money back after I turned on my lights and everything.I read the reviews and thought to give them a chance but everything is still the same do not rent here. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND NASTY!!
they have a big rat problem!!! Rats come in the apartments and eat stuff in the kitchen and they literally do nothing about it !!!! it’s not worth it they don’t care about their residents just money hungry. The air doesn’t work in some units and it’s summer time it’s ridiculous. Everything in the apartment is half done things keep falling apart . Just shut it down
My daughter has lived here and had been sick off and on. She’s had no heater for months, door didn’t lock properly. Management was lacking and doesn’t do anything. She even stayed throughout her year contract. Her lease will be up and they want to charge her to leave after her lease is up. This place is awful!! Run away as fast as you can. Between roaches and mold, it’s not worth it!!
DO NOT.... I repeat, DO NOT live at these apartments. I lived there from November 2018 until I was evicted in June of 2019. I refused to pay rent because I had no heat or air conditioning from the month that I moved in. It took almost two months to get a refrigerator that worked. The manager, upon my eviction, did not even know who I was. The maintenance man barely knew who I was. Absolutely the WORST place I have ever lived!!!!!!
A great temporary location as you transition to and through Temple Texas. The front staff is very plesant and easy to communicate with. The grounds are fairly managed well and the grass is maintained. Now, they advertise a pool. There is a pool that is not maintained and always in a state of unusability. Don’t plan to live here to have a useable pool. Each month you are charged a nominal fee for pest control. As a person who has the spirit to keep things clean and orderly, there was not a morning or evening I did not find a cockroach or two as a guest. Sometimes I felt as they were more permanent and I should be charging them rent. Either way, there are infestations of cockroaches. A good place to reside on a budget, but not a great place to stay.
I read the other review and I had to post one for myself.I'm assuming that she lives on a different side of the complex and I do, because it's not very loud where I live. It is peaceful and the neighbors are friendly. The apartments pool isn't that big, and there is no gym, but the office staff is friendly and they usually have various bakery goods set out in the mornings. I think it's an okay place to live for a decent price.
