About This Home
This just opened up again. A bedroom with wood floors, it's own entrance, portch, and lovely housemates. One kitty lives here too. The house is an old Victorian with a lovely porch and backyard! 750 includes wifi, water, washer and dryer, dishwasher, most of the heat and utilities. We do ask for 50$ if you use an window AC in the winter and we ask for an extra 50 when it gets cold for 4 months(its a large house to heat). Other than that we have a housemate on third floor, 2 others on the second floor, and a person on the 1st floor. So, you share one bathroom with 2 others. But there is a bathroom on the 1st floor if you need it. We ask that you share in the chores of the house, including shoveling and mowing. We also ask for a 12-month commitment(lease) we do a credit, background, and ask for references. We ask for one month's deposit as well. We want people who want to live together and enjoy what Hartford has to offer!

Asylum Hill is just one mile from Downtown Hartford, affording residents year-round access to city celebrations and festivals. The community is over 615 acres and slightly hilly, with the largest hill located to the west of the downtown area.
Aside from its natural river border, Asylum Hill is bound by Interstate 84 and railroad tracks. Before insurance agencies moved into the area in the 1920s, the community was mostly farmland. Aetna remains a staple and large employer in the community – the company is located on Farmington Avenue.
The community is pretty multicultural and attracts tourists with its historic landmarks, such as the Mark Twain House and Harriet Beecher Stowe Center. In addition to their affordable apartments, residents enjoy taking a stroll through Sigourney Square Park.
