Well-lit, spacious, quiet
Pros: ? The building is made up mostly of people over 35, which means I've never encountered a loud party, late night music, etc. ? The apartment itself is clean, spacious, and well-lit, with 7 foot sliding glass windows in both the living room and bedroom. ? Laundry room on every floor. ? Garage parking with assigned space. ? Quiet street--very little foot traffic or street noise. ? 10 minute walk to Grand Ave shops & restaurants + Lake Merritt. ? 20 minute walk to 19th Street BART station. ? Package carriers will almost always leave packages inside the secure lobby, or else will leave them at your apartment door Cons: ? The building is at the stop of a steep hill, so walking back home from being out is always tiring. ? Building elevator is slow and has no memory (you can't press two floors at the same time; have to do one, wait to arrive, wait for doors to shut, then press the next floor) ? Garage entry requires a key, which is awkward (garage key must be carried separately from car key) ? Occasional plumbing issues & maintenance. In the last year the water has been turned off for a full day 3 times.
