Property Ratings at 32 Custom House
Nice units that thoughtfully arrange living space without excess square footage. Perfect for a minimalist. Great to see development restoring beautiful buildings like this in Providence. However, it misses the mark on a number of simple areas for the price point they are asking. The units have continual issues with water quality being heavy with iron deposits. The management is not interested in helping by filtering water for tenants. In addition, local water outages have frequently making it impossible to shower or wash dishes due to a deep discoloration in the water that occurs for hours after the outage. The unit doesn't have parking available and since the building has a large number of units the city does not allow residents to get a parking permit for the street. Parking options are limited to nearby garages and many of these are not accessible 24 hrs. a day. There are also a few incorrect items in this posting: There is not bike storage or additional storage available in the building. I understand they hope to create this but the building has been online for more than 6 months and we haven't seen it yet. With a few fixes to these issues, the apartments would be a great place to reside in the heart of Providence.
