Weather in Pawtucket, RI

Pawtucket, Rhode Island has four distinct seasons, each with its pros and cons. While springtime in all of New England can be soggy and damp, it is also the time of year when temperatures warm, days become longer, the trees open up, the flowers emerge, and the temperatures turn more pleasant. In the summer, the days are longest, and they can be hot and humid. Central air conditioning is not found in historic homes in Pawtucket, and would only be an option in new construction. Luckily, Pawtucket is not a far drive from Rhode Island's top beach spots. The downtown Pawtucket RIPTA hub connections riders with buses to neighboring communities. Riders looking to take public transportation to other parts of Rhode Island can connect via Providence's Kennedy Plaza hub. While Pawtucket does have a train station, neither the MBTA Commuter Rail or the Amtrak make stops there. Service was discontinued at the Pawtucket/Central Falls station in 1959; for it to be restored, the station would need to undergo substantial renovation or (perhaps ore likely) a new station would be built in the Barton Street area. Adding viable railway transit in Pawtucket would greatly expand the public transportation system and open up the area to new development.
