Located just 8 miles from New York City, Harrison combines its industrial heritage with modern residential appeal. This town of approximately 20,000 residents centers around its PATH station, providing direct access to Newark, Jersey City, and Manhattan. New rental communities line the Passaic River, with current average rents ranging from $2,255 for studios to $3,404 for two-bedroom apartments. The rental market remains strong, showing increases between 0.7% to 4.2% across different unit sizes over the past year.
Red Bull Arena, which opened in 2010, stands as a cornerstone of Harrison's development. The town's evolution from its historic "Beehive of Industry" roots - a nickname from President William Howard Taft in 1912 - now features walkable neighborhoods with riverside paths and mixed-use developments. The Waterfront Development Plan has transformed 275 acres along the Passaic River into residential spaces while maintaining the area's historic character.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at 300 Somerset
This was my first apt. Absolutely loved everything about it. Maintenance came the same day I made a request. One of the doormen was alittle weird towards me but other than that the staff was friendly. I lost my job and the apt was getting too expensive to live on my own. So I had to break my lease and move out. It definitely broke my heart but it was a good run. I also loved the size of the bathroom and will not settle for anything smaller. The sucky thing about the area is you HAVE to pay for parking because there is no other parking except meter. But the PATH across the street was such an amazing perk..which is why the rent is so expensive.

Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted that you loved everything about your first apartment, including the friendly maintenance and staff. We understand the heartbreak of having to break your lease, especially with a bathroom you love & that were a standout feature for you, although the parking fees in the area were a downside. We're glad you enjoyed the convenience of the path across the street. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best in your new home.
I have been living here for over a year and have had issues with management, maintenance, and over chargers for my ESA. My support animal was documented in my initial lease but when they renewed they failed to include her information. Then it was made my problem as they attempted to charge me back payments and additional fees for having a "pet" when in reality I have a documented emotional support animal. The staff who handled my incident did so heartlessly and with little attempt to assist, instead refusing to talk on the phone until I included additional management in my request. This along with consistent issues with a leak in my apartment that continues to be reported and labeled as "work completed". This happening again even after management and the head of maintenance were shown the issue. The overall management and cost of living here is not worth it.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback and we are sorry to hear your experience has not been of 5 star like we always stride for. Our on-site team had been in contact with you regarding the paperwork that needed to be completed and did mention they would be happy to discuss via a phone call at your earliest convenience but never heard back from you. During our team’s follow up visit to your home they had advised to contact us should the issue arise again so we can further investigate it. Please contact our onsite team at TheHarrisonCollectionManagement@ironstate.com to schedule a time for our maintenance team to re-visit your home.
Do not move here. MICE! Also, management doesn't care and is always rude, that is if you can get ahold of them. Vermin / unhealthy / Unsafe living conditions / sketchy. The building used to be nice, but in the past year/covid it has gone downhill and has become very unpleasant to live here. The feeling of safety and community is gone. I guess they would prefer their tenants to not live here happily and want them to leave!

This place looks great on paper. But don't be fooled. The construction was cheap. You can hear everything from police sirens, lots of horn honking, people outside yelling at each other, kids running around the hallways, your neighbors thumping around... It's awful. Lost many hours of sleep. And management does nothing. People loitering in the entrance, smelly hallways. It sucks.
The management office is unresponsive and unprofessional. If you are a single woman or have a young family do not move to this location. Heavy drug use by the people that live here, the management office does nothing to make you feel safe or secure.
Harrison stationi is a great place to live. Great amenities and easy to get to NYC. Management is great too. The only problem are the people hanging in the lobby, besides that great place.
