Property Ratings at 240 Crown St
Residents, including the building's super, seem to blast music constantly here. The heat & hot water go out multiple times a month. The landlord doesn't reply to emails or phone calls. Can't wait till my lease is up!
Have lived in this place for many years. The place is quiet and mostly filled with older families from the Islands. The left hand of the building tends to be louder. The main problem with this building is the heat and hot water, or lack of. Several times a month the entire building will be without hot water - in the dead of winter. Heat only comes on two or three times a day starting in November. Tenants have no control of heat. Radiators in older apartments are decades old and leak, which leads to a mold problem, even if you live in one of the "renovated" apartments. If you rent a "renovated" apartment, please know your walls are simply cheap sheetrock slapped onto the old walls. There is little insulation, and the general renovation was done quickly and cheaply. So if you have the funds, even if you are young and starry eyed about living in Brooklyn, find another building. This place IS too good to be true. Don't walk, RUN away.
Have you explored Brooklyn ? If you have, then you'll noticed that majority of the apartments aren't that much captivating but our lengthy, bright beautiful lobby is what makes our apartment the best candidate amongst other apartments in Brooklyn. We are pet friendly (WOOF MEOW), The neighbors are always personable and best of all, we have many restaurants and grocery stores (Some opened 24 hours) that are surrounded by our apartment and near. We are also located near up to 3 train stations and many schools for all grades.
