About This Property
We are looking to sublet our 1-bedroom apartment for 4 months, with the potential to extend the lease on a month-to month-basis. ABOUT THE SPACE: This one-bedroom, one-bath apartment, in a modern elevator building, is move-in ready. It will stay fully furnished with the bed, couch, table and rug as pictured (things like bedspread and some art we will take with us). Some of the great features of this apartment are: -the gigantic south-facing living room bay window, providing beautiful morning to evening light -high ceilings throughout -the spacious patio, which is gorgeous in spring as the trees bloom -a rooftop terrace for all tenants with views of the city & the Statue of Liberty -in-unit washer and dryer -spacious walk-in bedroom closet in the bedroom Some other perks - we have an electronic keypad for entry so no key is required, central air & heat with a NEST, and a bike room in the lobby. LOCATION: The apartment is steps away from Vanderbilt Avenue, a beautiful wide avenue lined with some of the best restaurants and shops in Brooklyn. B/Q, 2/3, A/C are all under 10 minutes walk. Grocery store and the best bagel shop in BK is one block away! WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR: We are looking for someone who is tidy and will be respectful of the space, as we own this apartment and will likely be listing it for sale later this spring or summer. We need to rent to someone who is open to us having 2-3 open houses, in which you would have to be out of the apartment for several hours. The apartment will be month-to-month after the initial 4-month lease term because the unit may sell. If it is looking like it will sell, we will give you ample notice for a move-out date MORE DETAILS -Living space: 627 square feet -Porch: 49 square feet -Central air & heat, controlled by the tenant -In-unit washer, dryer, and dishwasher -Bike room in lobby -Porch is private with no street noise and multiple trees to protect privacy in the spring -Rooftop patio with Manhattan skyline views -Located on Vanderbilt Avenue, the only volunteer-run Open Street of its kind in Brooklyn, and one of the most visible in New York City (). With more than 20 restaurants & bars, several bodegas & grocery stores, and myriad cleaners and bookstores -Entertainment within walking distance: Prospect Park (8 min), Barclays Center (10 min), Brooklyn Museum (14 min), Brooklyn Botanic Garden (14 min) -Subway: B/Q (7 min), 2/3 (7 min), C (8 min), Atlantic Terminal (16 min), G (15 min) ABOUT THIS LISTER My husband and I are 30-somethings with a newborn, and we are moving out of the city. We own our apartment and are looking to sublet it before we list it for sale. We will not be on site or in the city when our apt is rented; however, we are extremely responsive and will help with what is needed. We have never had a big maintenance issue in this building, and there is a building board that is available to answer questions, as well as a message thread for tenants. Living in our home and building has been a joy for the past 4 years, and we think you'll love it too! RENTAL REQUIREMENTS -A security deposit of $1500 will be required and returned when you vacate, assuming no damage has been caused. -Renter will need to sign our lease agreement, which will specify a lease of 4 months, with month-to-month possible at owner discretion afterwards. -I am available to show the apartment most days and all weekends. PETS POLICY Please reach out to discuss pets - we do not want pets that cause a mess or are not potty-trained. -Cats will be allowed, dogs MAY be ok, depending on the size.

With its tree-lined streets and welcoming community, Prospect Heights is a wonderful tight-knit community to come home to. The Grand Army Plaza at Mount Prospect Park is probably the first thing you’ll notice, especially the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Arch monument. The Saturday market is held at the plaza, which makes buying groceries all the more fun!
Across from the arch is the Brooklyn Public Library, one of the community’s iconic buildings. The Brooklyn Museum is close by on Eastern Parkway – the same thoroughfare that holds the West Indian Day Parade on Labor Day. The Botanic Garden is in walking distance of both attractions and features acres of cherry blossoms.
Vanderbilt and Washington Avenues act as the main commercial district, scattered with shops, restaurants, and bars. Locals enjoy the famous lemon ricotta pancakes at Tom’s Restaurant plus sweet treats at Ample Hills Creamery. Prospect Heights has a lot to do and see – like a Nets game at Barclays Center.
