A seaside city along the Pacific, Huntington Beach is known for its miles of white-sand beaches and fabulous California climate. Nicknamed “Surf City,” people from all over the world come to catch waves and hang ten on its pristine beach. The U.S. Open of Surfing competition is held in Huntington Beach during the summer.

Spider Sanctuary!
We moved into this 1 bed 1 bath apartment 6 months ago, my husband and I, thinking that we found a hidden gem. For only $1270, we are 2 blocks away from the beach, and there's banana trees in our front yard. But we now understand very clearly why it's such a great deal. First of all, these apartments were built in the mid-late 1960's. The walls, floors, and ceilings are paper thin, and some of them seem to be deteriorating. And secondly, the Worst part of all, this area is INFESTED with SPIDERS! All kinds of spiders, mostly harmless ones inside. Black and brown Widows have dominated the whole outside perimeter. Literally hundreds. We spray every inch of the place with spider poison but one week later they're back in even larger numbers. DO NOT MOVE TO THE 218 CHICAGO AVE APARTMENTS IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE SPIDERS!

Home sweet home on the beach
Huntington Beach, along with most of southern California, is not an easy place to find affordable living especially with a desirable location. My wife and I were fortunate this past March to find one of those places. Offering a month to month contract, and being just a stones throw away from the Pacific Ocean, this apartment manages to keep our stress at a minimum. Also, the banana trees help with that as well. All and all, we are very pleased with our apartment.
