Neighborhood

The Financial District sits at the tip of Lower Manhattan. It is the oldest part of New York City – the city was created here in 1624. Great area if you like it a little quiet on the weekends. >10 minute walk to new Brookfield Place, Seaport, World Trade, etc. The best part is SUPER easy access to so many subway lines (4,5 2,3 J,Z, R, etc.)

Great views, great roof desk, lousy elevators

I've enjoyed living at 2 Gold Street for the past couple years. Our apt has an amazing view of the WTC and the Hudson River. The lobby staff are super friendly and efficient. There are lots of casual/take-out restaurants in the area and some nicer restaurants (but more seem to be moving in every day). The roof deck is awesome (but sometimes a bit packed). The gym is also great and not typically that crowded. My only complaint is that the elevators seem to break frequently, and since there are only three express elevators for the higher floors, if one breaks you'll be waiting a while. They also tend to get crowded during rush hour (people going to and returning from work). But all in all, this is a nice apartment building.

nice roof but lots of construction

great amenities, the roof is beautiful. however they often replace the wooden floors in apartment and if you are home during the day it is VERY LOUD. expect this about once a month.

2 Gold Street

2 Gold Street is a relatively new building with an amazing roof and great amenities. The amenities include a gym, laundry room, indoor pool, lounges, a solarium, and doormen 24/7. The view from the roof is breath-taking as you can see the entire city as well as all of the bridges. This building is great for people who work near wall street but it is also a 5 minute walk to Fulton Center where you can grab almost any subway. The seaport is extremely close with great restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend this building to ANYONE!

Downtown luxury hi rise

From the super nice doormen to the amazing view on the rooftop- this building is doing something right! The apartment itself is the perfect size studio especially for a gal with lots of shoes like myself. Some apartments even have a balcony so you can enjoy the views in the privacy of your own space. So happy I made the decision to move here!

Luxury apartment NYC

I've lived here for 2 years after extensively searching for NYC apartments and living in bad ones. It's a hefty price but if you strategically live with a roommate - it's the best apt ever! Management is amazing, the rooftop is amazing, and the apartment itself is updated with the newest appliances. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay.

Gold St. Studio Shines Above the Rest

Without reservation, I am about to sign a 4th year lease on my studio apartment at 2 Gold St. Moving to New York, I knew exactly what I was looking for, but had searched in all the wrong places. A neighborhood with history and charm. Safe streets into the early morning hours. A quiet retreat after a long day's work. Convenience to trains and grocery stores. Modern amenities, doorman, laundry...the list goes on. What's incredible is that I didn't have to compromise on any of these mandates, I just had to broaden my horizons. The Financial District offers a lot of bang for your buck. The rent at 2 Gold is comparable to other luxury high-rises in the city, but the community adds a lot more to your dollar. Just walking distance to the bustling downtown scenes of Tribeca, Soho and the Lower East Side, the Financial District feel like a much appreciated pause in the mad dash. The East and West side running paths are an immediate breathe of fresh air. Developments are on the rise and this is soon to be a new city hot spot. But back to my studio apartment, my sanctuary. The alcove kitchen creates an inviting space and the large windows let in natural light. The two large closets are a girls dream come true. Between the gym, pool, lounge and roof deck, I sometimes wonder if I'm at a resort. I may never leave...
