The Crown Heights South neighborhood of the New York City borough of Brooklyn sits a few blocks southeast of downtown Brooklyn and a few blocks east of the Hudson River. Its close proximity to downtown and easy access to Manhattan make it very attractive to families as well as young professionals and students attending nearby Brooklyn College.

Worst Management I have ever encountered

Living here was a nightmare, especially in the pandemic. The first thing I noticed was that there was no live-in super or way to formally submit maintenace requests. It was so hard to get a hold of management the year I lived here, and the receptionist always told us “no one ever called with issues, or this is the first time we’re hearing this” when we knew for a fact that at least 3 of our neighbors had called issues in. There were at one point, 3 floors’ smoke battery chirps going off for weeks at a time. They rarely cleaned the foyer, stairwell, and door, and this was truly despicable in covid times, thinking of all the grime in the building. We also had a ton of roaches and the first two floors have mice. Avoid at all costs. It was a shame we were expected to live like this, especially because the building itself had good pre-war architecture, our apartment was cozy, and our neighbors were very kind.
