Fell in My Lap
I have a pretty ideal situation. I have a modest one bedroom, one floor walk up that is two blocks from the subway and is residential enough to find parking 50 feet from my front door every night. Also, having a rent stabilized apartment in a trendy area is also a blessing, I know people that pay thousands more for less. Having the super live in you building is yet another plus, god forbid something goes wrong and it's fixed in a timely fashion. Granted the building is by no means modern, if that's the only down side the pros far outweigh the cons. You can't beat that for city living especially since everything you could ever need is within walking distance.

We love our apt, our neighbors are all old school italians who are warm and loving. The apt is old though and desperately needs some updating.
