Home to UCLA, Westwood lies on the west side of the city and is considered to be one of Los Angeles’ premier neighborhoods. Bordered by Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Brentwood, and Century City, multimillion dollar homes populate the landscape and students pay a premium to rent near campus.
The university itself serves as a major cultural center for the community, including on-campus attractions (such as the Fowler Museum and the Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden) and university-affiliated venues off-campus (The Hammer Museum, the Geffen Playhouse), as well as the presence of thousands of students and faculty members throughout the neighborhood.
Directly south of campus, Westwood Village is a historic shopping district that features blocks of restaurants and businesses catering to both students and the neighborhood’s larger workforce. Many prominent corporations and law offices are found along Wilshire Boulevard, one of the busiest east-west transit corridors across the city.

Property Ratings at 1625 Glendon Ave
- Trash buildup in garage / smells horrible (Marcus is penny pincher cheap for more trash pickups) - Walls are paper thin and you can hear conversations and noises from neighbors - Carpets in complex are filthy and gross (completely neglected) - Sharing mailboxes with other people in the building / sharing common doors and hallways - Landlord stalks the property at random times spying on what tenants are up to. CREEP! - Getting something fixed is a joke and band-aid repair jobs - A lot of bums hanging around the complex - Units have lots and lots of bugs that landlord does nothing about. - Motel 6 air conditioning units - Rent increases are common here, so be prepared to bounce after lease is up - Better complexes with more accommodations in the area that are in fact cheaper
Not sure on how this place is receiving "4 stars" on the main page. This apartment complex is more like a one star establishment or a 2 star max. The owner uses this complex s his personal piggy bank. If he needs the funds, he just jacks peoples rent up every 6 months giving tenants 30-60 days notice. He must be trying to live the luxury life. He doesn't care either and is VERY cocky and was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Break ins at this apartment complex are very common, as well as homeless people from Westwood Blvd. using the hallway as a public toilet. You see, the owner REFUSES to put locks on the front entry door (to protect tenants) because he is too cheap to do so. God Forbid an earthquake hits the greater Los Angeles because I don't think this building would be left standing. The termites have completely riddled this building and the only "fix" is for the owner to go around with a Raid spray can and spray different spots. (pathetic joke and I'm being dead serious) The sheetrock used in this building must be the thinnest used because you can hear everything from your neighbors or as the owner like to call "roommates"..... Yes it's true as other reviews have posted, you MUST share a mailbox with someone else and yes these units are very "shady" in regards to the layouts.
If you love silverfish crawling all over your apartment and termites laying eggs on your utensils, this apartment is for you! Sharing is caring and that's what you do with your mail along with your neighbor's because the landlord is too cheap to have separate mailboxes for tenants. Speaking of mail, don't expect a gift card from your relative because getting in the building is easily accessible where mail theft happens frequently. The building access is also great for homeless people to urinate in the hallway appearing like a scene from the Shining where it takes a long time for the landlord to respond to the situation or any for that matter. If you believe inhaling mold gives you super powers, by all means live in this building when there is vacancy because the poor ventilation of bathrooms will do just that. Sewage backed up in the apartment twice within a year so it's a nice present of food chunks and grimey water waiting for you after a nice vacation. The landlord is so awesome that he will raise rent every year without updating the building or your apartment with no explanation because he can and he cares. I suggest you get renters insurance because any building mishaps that will damage your personal belongings will go through your pocket. In all honesty, this probably was the worst place I lived being here in LA.
Lived in this building. Not well kept whatsoever. First off, you have to share mailboxes with other tenants. Literally your mail mixed with someone else's mail. (cannot be legal) Landlord will tell tenants that their neighbors are "roommates" when in fact they are not and everyone has separate leases. Getting things fixed is nothing short of a pain. Landlord / Owner tries to do everything himself and does it for cheap. Don't be surprised by the silver fish (bugs) in every unit and the obvious presence of termites either. This building is known to have mold problems also. (I'm sure the health department has a file of this) The building has no security whatsoever and anybody can walk right into the building. No lock on front door. The carpeting in the hallways are old and outdated, walls all scuffed up and lighting is poor. The walls are thin so you will hear everything from other peoples "units".... Is the location good? Yes.... But it's not worth the money and headaches living here. This building is not rent controlled and the landlord/owner will in fact raise rent whenever he feels like it.
