Living Room also has a ceiling fan and is awash in beautiful afternoon light, and the front porch is a great place to relax with a book, cup of coffee, or a glass of wine. This apartment is located on the 2nd floor and is accessible by stairs. Even though this home is within city limits, it is located in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from downtown, which you can easily walk to. Sidewalks are everywhere so it is very safe walking. Downtown you'll find restaurants, unique shops, art galleries, yoga studios, coffee shops, antiques shops, and a visitors center where you can find lots of information on things to do. Remember, this is where George Washington grew up and there is much to see! When you're not working, you can kayak on the Rappahannock River, walk the historic canal path along the Heritage Trail (reachable from the apartment), attend cultural events at the University of Mary Washington, including Great Lives Lecture Series, theatre & dance performances, philharmonic orchestra performances, and art galleries; attend First Friday art events, and visit area battlefields. You'll never run out of things to do. Your welcome package will be waiting for you when you arrive, and contains lots of information on fun things to do during your stay, including trolley tours, nearby Civil War battlefields (you'll be staying in the heart of where the famous battle of Fredericksburg took place in 1862), as well as a small gift to welcome you. We provide information--many including phone numbers--for many local attractions, visitors center, movie theaters, hospitals, pharmacies, shopping, and restaurants. PLEASE NOTE: Listing says 3 month leasing but we allow rentals that are 30 days or longer.
