About This Property
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: This Lodge is on a rough dirt road and you will need a sturdy 4-wheel drive vehicle year round to access it. The road can be difficult to navigate in the winter - sometimes requiring tire chains and always requiring good winter tires. There is no sense considering this place if you don't have a good 4 wheel drive vehicle like an SUV or pickup. The drive from the Lodge to Old Town Fort Collins takes about 40 minutes. Located 12 miles from Fort Collins in the foothills outside of Bellvue overlooking Horsetooth Reservoir this home is on a secluded 71 acre parcel of land at an elevation of 7000 feet surrounded by forested mountains and offers total privacy at the end of a 3 1/2 mile dirt road. The views from the 1000 square feet of deck are spectacular! You can hike from the front door and encounter wildlife - deer, elk, bobcats, mountain lions, bears, foxes and wild turkey. Built in 2007 the home has a rustic feel yet has all the modern conveniences. Custom woodwork is throughout: aspen wood ceilings, oak floors and pine trim. There are 4 bedrooms and 3 baths on 3 levels. It has a sauna/steam room and there is an outdoor hot tub available. The lower level has a huge tiled Great Room with a wet bar. Some furnishings can be provided if needed. This place is a wonderful retreat and is best suited for someone who doesn't need to be in town on a daily basis. The ideal tenants would be semi-retired couple who don't have to be at work everyday. The maximum occupancy is 4 persons due to limitations imposed by the well and septic system. The area near the home burned in the 2012 High Park fire, but much of the forest around the home survived due to previous tree thinning work and it is lush now with pine trees, wildflowers and native grasses. Looking for fun, positive, stable, nature-loving folks who would enjoy a rural mountain setting. Must have excellent references and a good credit report. First and last month's rent, plus security deposit required. One dog, and only one dog, is possible with good references. The home is located off a private, no-trespassing road, and arrangements must be made in advance before driving up to see the property. Owner lives nearby. There are no commercial activities allowed at this property, including commercial growing operations, and no hunting is allowed.
