Stretched over the San Antonio River and just 10 minutes south of Downtown San Antonio, Riverside is a vibrant locale that’s full of age-old, historic homes in curious colorways. Tall trees line the avenues, and many of Riverside’s homes sit on elevated lots that were planned decades ago.

Residents gather at the collection of parks and recreation space just to the west of the neighborhood. Concepcion Park is a lush green space set along the San Antonio River, and there’s a public pool to enjoy as well. Local restaurants and fare are all over Riverside. Roosevelt Ave. and South Presa St. have plenty of cuisines to try — everything from tacos and burgers to seafood and barbecue.

The I-37 and I-10 meet at the northwest corner of Riverside, so it’s easy to head into the city or enjoy the breweries in the King William neighborhood, just to the north.
