I love the building and the staff! Everyone is super friendly and the building is so clean! Maintenance is awesome!!! I’m not happy about having to pay for electricity to use the common areas. It adds a lot to the rent cost. Specially because the usage of common areas is already built-in to the price of the rent. It doesn’t seem right.

I've lived at 1401 S State Apartments for over 6 years. In that time, management, amenities and safety/security have deteriorated. In the past year some improvements were starting to be made, but current decisions onsite have started to show more of a downslide. Serious concern over the utility costs and how the costs and usage are managed.

1401 has beautiful good sized units. Many of them have amazing views. The location is close to everything but much quieter than the loop. The management and maintenance seem to be on top of everything. Any issues we have had were dealt with quickly. I would definitely reccomend to anyone looking downtown.
The 1401 S State Apartments is actually a nice building. I stay in the corner unit, so i have this 360 View which so beautiful both in the day and at Night. I' m not sure if it was a complete miss from the Apartment but when it was time for my move-in, the unit was not prepped for my arrival. The place still looked like how i came to veiw it, it wasn't cleaned, a couple of the appliances were't working but on the bright side the maintenance crew were prettty swift in responding to your requests well most of the time. Overall great apartment, but my apartment wasnt prepped for my habitation at the time of my move-in.
Great building to live in. I’ve had no issues with my apartment and the issues I did have, maintenance came to correct right away. Great and friendly environment. Love how pet friendly it is as well for our furry friends:)

Whatever you do do not rent on the 4th floor. The gym is located on the 4th floor and has zero sound proofing you will here weights being dropped at all hours. It is extremely loud and nothing a normal person could get used to or sleep through. I can wear headphones with loud music and still here the noise. Not sure if you can here the gym on higher levels. They charge a fee to move appointments. Walls are paper thin too.

I've resided here for 3 years. My excitement and enthusiasm remains the same. Julie and Jacob are to be commended. I remember when Jacob started he seemed shy and quiet. Now he seems assured and confident. This has to be in part due to good leadership. I also love the security team, Don, Tyler and Terrance. The issues here are always handled timely. 1401 S State is a luxury building that is affordable in a nice area in the south loop. Would recommend to anyone looking to live in the city and have a luxury feel, floor-to-ceiling window views with top notch service.

Love this place. I have been here little over a year and have had no problems. It is a super safe place, friendly, great location, and awesome views. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

The apartments at 1401 S State are very spacious for the renting price. The views are fantastic and it's close to CTA, grocery, Target, and Grant Park. I look forward to coming home everyday after work and enjoying my apartment!

140 S State is fantastic apartment and a location for those who was to feel like they are right in downtown while also feeling like things are still residential. Very good access to the rest of the city, love this apartment!
