About This Property

This is a 1000sqft 2BR/1BA English Basement apartment in heart of Bloomingdale - formerly one of the city's best kept secrets and now one of DC's hottest neighborhoods! The apartment is within a block of some pretty famous restaurants (The Red Hen, Boundary Stone & Big Bear to name a few) and is just 1.5miles from the Capital! The front yard of this apartment is meticulously landscaped and will greet you year around with flowers blooming from Spring-Fall. As you approach the front entry you'll notice a RING doorbell/camera system with motion sensor & two-way talking feature - this makes sure you never miss a delivery or wonder who's at the door. The apartment was designed to mirror the grand victorian spaces of the main part of the house (with crown moulding and recessed lighting throughout the unit). The Kitchen is spacious with nearly brand new appliances (and fun fact: was used by a previous tenant that was a professional baker). There is a large eat in bar that separates the kitchen from the living room space. The living room space has a universal wall mount that's ready for any sized flat screen tv (that can be mounted). The rooms in this apartment are spacious (roughly 12x12), have full-sized closets (with lighting so you can actually see your clothes!) and screened windows for good ventilation/light. The apartment also has it’s own high-efficiency HVAC system so you get a great air-exchange ratio and very low energy use. There is also a full sized stackable Washer/Dryer with it's own dedicated closet in the hallway. Last but not least there is a well-lit back porch with your our own gas grill and more greenery! :) Rent is $2350/month, plus electric (between $15-50/mo) and has a security deposit of one month's rent ($2350). Roughly two miles north of the eastern end of the National Mall, Bloomingdale is a small neighborhood of about 12 blocks. It extends from Channing Street south to Florida Avenue, on the southeast side of Howard University. Bloomingdale is literally picture-perfect -- it was even featured in the opening credits of the Netflix series, House of Cards. The colorful brownstones with turrets aren't all people love about this popular neighborhood. It is the location of Crispus Attucks Park, a popular green space with terrific views.

Bloomingdale contains two commercial districts. The first, along Rhode Island Avenue, is packed with bars and restaurants -- including popular favorites the Red Hen and Bacio Pizzeria. Florida Avenue and North Capitol Street also offer restaurants, bars, and a few other businesses. While Bloomingdale doesn't have its own Metro station, bus stops are scattered throughout the neighborhood, taking residents quickly to nearby stops or into downtown DC.
