The dominant feature of Pittsburgh’s Highland Park neighborhood is that namesake park itself, a massive public greenspace that almost completely encircles the residential portion of the community. Residents enjoy an environment filled with playgrounds, sports facilities, gardens, footpaths, bike trails, scenic waterfront views, and the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium.
The residential section of the neighborhood is full of historic homes and buildings, with some of the finest architecture clustered around the Historic District on the southwest side. Centrally located within the community, Bryant Street is where you’ll find many of the local storefront shops and cafes, with a broader selection just a few blocks south in the East Liberty area. With a wide selection of public and private schools close by, Highland Park is an excellent option for families.

Property Ratings at Wellesley Place
We stayed here for about two years. We enjoyed the neighborhood and had great neighbors. It is a quite area and good for young professionals and (small) families. The management was great in terms of fixing any issues that arose. They have a 24 hr phone number and the person on call came within half an hour most of the times. The laundry is in the basement and is well maintained. The minor issue we once faced was with our kitchen sink getting clogged which was fixed within half an hour to 45 mins on a Saturday. We have occasionally heard our neighbors in the living room but have not heard them in the bedrooms. It is about 5 mins walk from 71A, 75 and 87S/87M bus stops that take you to Oakland, Oakland/Southside and downtown. The reason we chose this place was that the place is pretty warm during the winters (heat was covered in the rent). There is an additional open parking lot beside the apartment if one chooses to not park on the street. We recommend this place and think that it is a good value for money.
