Finding Apartments for Rent in Waveland, MS

Waveland, MS is located in Hancock County and is considered part of the area known as the Gulfport-Biloxi Metro Area. What this means is that Waveland is essentially a suburb with two larger cities, Gulfport and Biloxi, nearby. If you wish to settle in Waveland itself, you should note that the town was nearly completely wiped out by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Progress has of course been made, but the town is still feeling the after effects of the storm in some spots.

This location really opens up a lot of opportunities for apartment seekers. Both Gulfport and Biloxi have their own advantages and disadvantages to consider when deciding which neighborhood you want to end up in. Gulfport is the busier city with a commerce-heavy downtown area while Biloxi has a more laid back atmosphere with the better nightlife scene.

Because of the reconstruction, it is possible to find relatively new apartment buildings at an affordable cost. Roughly 30 percent of Waveland families have children under the age of 18 living with them, so there is a healthy amount of community activity aimed at children.
