Charter Oak is a quiet and suburban getaway set against the majestic San Gabriel Mountains.
The community was once a small farm town – but now has expanded into a large residential area for commuters who work in Los Angeles. Students in the neighborhood are served by the Charter Oak Unified School District, but there are some private academies too.
Locals enjoy the convenient access to Interstate 210. Walnut Creek Community Regional Park is just a short drive outside of Charter Oak, plus it’s a great place to spend an afternoon doing a family-friendly hike.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Vista Pointe
I do like the place. But I think it's wrong to charge for trash a sewer. Not enough inforcement on people not picking up after their dogs. The pool needs to be cleaned better

We understand your frustrations. All potential fees and how they are calculated are clearly outlined in the lease agreement, please give us a call for clarification. We expect residents to clean up after their pets, however, if you notice an area of our community that needs attention, please give us a call so we can address it.
The community has been nothing but kind. The apartment itself was cute, even though it was a rough start with a few things in the apartment. I still would totally recommend living in this community.

We are thrilled to receive such kind feedback. We know first impressions are important and are sorry to hear we dropped the ball. Please give us a call if there's ever anything we can do to better your time here, our staff is here to help.
Took over a month to fix my AC and my garbage disposal is still not fixed. It is impossible to contact the office through phone, they never pick up. You are forced to always go into the office.

We fulfill maintenance requests in the order in which they are received, but you can always give us a call to check on the status. If you feel as though it has taken longer than expected, please come by the leasing office to address this concern. Thank you.
It has all of the amenities that we value, including washer/dryer in unit, central air, and really nice, new, stainless appliances(refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and flat top stove). Everything was very clean upon move in and we even had brand new carpet. Although the buildings are older, they take good care of them. Maintenance and management are always very responsive, friendly, and take care of any issues we have right away.

We are incredibly grateful you took the time to leave us this feedback and for the compliments to our team. Our company values resident satisfaction as a top priority. Thank you for making your home at Vista Pointe!
Literally called to make an appointment to schedule a tour, the guy said yeah we have one for this time. Drove 30mins out, then the lady said, oh we don’t have any available right now. So why did your staff tell us a time and date? So disrespectful and unprofessional. Train your staff better before wasting our gas and time.
Hate this place. Do you want your lease terms to change in the middle of your lease? Do you want packages stolen from your front door? How about homeless/drug addicts freely riding their bicycles roaming through the property? Do you want to be woken to the sound of jackhammers because they decide to tear up the sidewalk outside your apartment? At least give some notice. There are so many other things that need to be fixed. Where’s the 24 hour patrol? What does management even do here? Good luck to new tenants, you’ve been warned. In 2019, this place is getting worse and worse.
My bathroom started to leak from the ceiling light fixture, called the management office before they closed, spoke to RUBEN and have been waiting since. Turns out, they decided to leave for the day! This isn’t the first time we’ve been let down by Vista Pointe, but this sure is the worst experience I’ve had to endure. No emergency maintenance number is provided anywhere and when we got a hold of some 1-800 number (the only after hr number that could be found), we were basically told “good luck” and hung up on. UPDATE: it’s been over 3 hrs and 15 min since we had originally reported the water leak to the office before they closed. The maintenance worker who said he’d arrive here (and this was only because we called the 800 number and the corporate management office repeatedly, not from our original call to the office with RUBEN) in 25 min did arrive after over 80 min. He left to get ladders, that was 42 min ago. Ceiling is still leaking, leaving the only bathroom we have unusable. By law, this makes a dwelling “uninhabitable”.
Till around 5 months back, it was a great place to live. But since the new management took over, it has become one of the worst places to live in Covina. Very BAD Management and office bearers and they have made the whole community a mess. The Previous Management made sure that they kept the premises neat and clean, they listened to the residents issues and complaints. But the new management is so irresponsible, never gives importance to the opinions or complaints from residents. In the name of beautifying the community, is creating a lot of inconvenience to the residents by noise, dust, paint etc. The lawns are never maintained and there are dog poops everywhere. There are several cats roaming around the whole community. Not at all kids friendly. They do not allow kids to use scooters/cycles/stakeboards in the premises even though it is allowed as per the lease rules. Picnic areas where picnics are not allowed. Washers and driers mostly does not work properly. For the rent they demand, it is not worth that much money. Will definitely NOT RECOMMEND this place.
We love this place!! It is so quiet, the staff is great, maintenance is great, and it is very private!!!
