Vista Commons is a great place to live with conveinience to downtown and surrounding events. The apartment layout is excellent for a two bedroom, with additional home office space with a sunroom apartment. The maintenance is always fast and courteous. The rent is reasonable for a downtown location and the ammenities you get with the apartment. Would highly recommend Vista Commons for both professionals and graduate students at USC.

We’ve only lived here for 2 weeks and I am already in love with this place compared to the last place we lived at. Neighbors are quiet, ample amount of parking and I love that our packages are protected in the Amazon lockers. The lease office always answers any questions we have and the layout of the apartment is perfect for us. The trains can be loud you get used to it over time. Would definitely recommend!

Mold and water damage. Storms this summer resulted in my items getting drenched. When I wrote a service request for this, they marked the service request completed when it was not. People in the office were rude and do not act kindly. The gate was broken for almost 4 weeks. Told me I was on a month to month lease after I gave them my notice - basically couldn’t keep anything straight in that office. Had many friends in the complex with similar issues - one friend had mold all summer long as the ceiling was leaking. Multiple roofers came and said the problem is bigger than a quick fix - aka all the buildings’ roofs need to be replaced. Stay away if you can. Many other friends had broken ACs for weeks. There is never parking. Location is good but for what they are charging you can go across the bridge to a new apartment for cheaper.

While we understand the resident side of the gate was hit by a moving truck, there was still a seperate entrance available while we were at the mercy of waiting on parts and it was repaired as soon as they arrived. We would never allow other emergency items to go unrepaired and all ACs and roof repairs we are aware of have been resolved right away. As stated previously; we have been at the mercy of vendor arrival. If there are additional unresolved repairs needed please contact us right away so we can handle those immediately for you or anyone else you may know in our community. We assure you that our goal is to ensure our residents are happy and well taken care of. Please call me at 803-256-0006 right away so I can assist further. Excellent living conditions with easy access to downtown Columbia and the surrounding area. Main entrance is not on a busy road which makes accessing the community easy.

1 month in I'm pleased with my experience with Vista Commons. The location can't be beat and I feel like it's very secure. Parking space has never been an issue. In terms of guests you'll either need to pay for a landline to allow people to enter remotely or you'll have to swipe them in. I was pleasantly surprised that the units are more updated than the demo I saw initially. The appliances and fixtures are practically brand new and I enjoy the hardwood floors in my apartment. I appreciate that there are full washer and dryers in the unit. The clubhouse is currently under construction at the moment so I can't speak to the gym, but I've been happy with the pool. Sara and Amandaleigh have been very friendly and helpful with addressing any of my concerns. Maintenance requests have been done in a reasonable amount of time. After looking at other locations downtown I think this was the best fit for me and I don't regret my decision. I would recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a place in downtown Columbia. I get yelled at by the lady in the front office more than I do my drill sergeant...the gym has been closed for like a year but I still have to pay for it...the gate never works so people are always locked out and you can't have food delivered and no one answers the phone to fix it...not worth the money to live here just go somewhere else lots better options

We understand your frustrations in not having access to the fitness center but have been working as quickly as possible with a professional company to ensure a new top-notch facility. Construction was estimated to take 12 to 18 weeks and we are nearing the grand opening very soon! If you are experiencing issues with the gate please contact management. Management is not aware of any gate issues unless they are reported, once reported we will correct the problem as soon as possible. This complex seems attractive, but management is incredibly rude and imposes frequent and expensive charges for the littlest issues, like leaving your trash can outside past 12AM when it doesn’t even get picked up until 10PM. Management sends out regular condescending and threatening emails to the entire complex. I feel so anxious every time I drive through those gates to come home- a place I should feel at peace. Don’t sacrifice peace of mind for a good location.

Vista commons has a really nice property and is kept clean. The apartments are new and have little to none general wear and tear. It is nice that it is in a gated community, has a pool, and a simple workout area. The management is nice but have a lot of tenants to take care of, so some things get missed and you will get multiple people asking you the same questions over and over. Overall a great place to live, close to USC campus, in walking distance to places to eat.

Moved from Chicago and wanted to be “near the action” of the vista. Being right off the strip, you’re right next to the nightlife but can’t hear any of the noise from your place. The units are all upgraded I think over the last year, so it’s like living in a new place. Maintenance staff could be a little friendlier. We see you every day. Say hi and smile.

I almost hate to write this review (key word - almost) because management was pretty good... until it wasn't. Towards the end of our lease, we had an issue with our air conditioning unit flooding out into the hallway and seeping through the sheetrock in two different bedrooms, while also flooding the threshold of one of these bedrooms. To the point where you stepped onto the carpet and sunk into mushy, soaked, mildewed carpet. Despite our frustrated attempts at getting anyone to listen to us, they let the problem fester for 5 days without fixing the problem, telling us "it's just that time of year" and "this is what a/c units do". Unfortunately they refused to pay attention to our concerns, and didn't address the problem until someone over the age of 25 expressed concern. Perhaps they didn't care because we were college students at the end of our lease, but no one deserves to sleep in a mildewed carpeted room, and it shouldn't take someone else threatening the office to get them to do their job. (by the way - the problem, once addressed, was fixed in a matter of minutes). We were charged for stains on the carpet due to this problem (never got a hold of them to actually fight this), and did not receive our full deposit back despite a lack of damage actually caused by us. Overall, these apartments are nice and in a good location, but our mostly pleasant stay was ruined by the lack of care they exhibited towards the end of our lease.

I've lived here for three years and you can't beat the location. It's great to have guaranteed parking in the Vista and not have to worry about finding some place on the street. My apartment was recently renovated and I'm really enjoying all the new upgrades. Maintenance is always on top of things and work orders are completed very quickly. The office staff is always upbeat and personable.

I have lived at Vista Commons for approx. a year and a half and have found it to be among the top apartment complexes in Columbia. As a USC Law student, it's close proximity to USC's campus, the Vista, Publix, Main Street, and 5 Points is extremely convenient and allows for an quick walk or bike ride to virtually anywhere in the downtown area. The staff is always friendly and accomodating and do an excellent job maintaining the complex. There is typically always sufficient parking and noise has never been an issue as most of the residents seem to be either graduate students, young professionals, or people using an apartment as a second residence. I would highly recommend considering a Vista Commons apartment for its convenience, cleanliness, amenities, and privacy.
