Property Ratings at Tropical Villas
I went to view an apartment here and they ended up showing me 4. The apartment was being renovated and there was a pool. The guy confirmed there was a pool when we spoke on the phone and he again confirmed it was open for use in person when I asked about it at the property. I decided to proceed to take the apartment and things took a turn. The lease is about 10 pages long of rules and regulations. Things like you can not have house plants or sit in your car on the phone in the parking lot. You can not park your friends car in your designated space if you decide to meet there and drive somewhere together. It would be like living in a prison. But the three ultimate deal breakers for me were the clause on the lease that said "NO POOL ACCESS" which was discussed multiple times prior to this point. Then they wanted me to lie to the utility company to connect service and sign a "fake lease" so they could pass the inspection for the apartment. This "fake lease" said I agreed to pay additional money and is in fact legally binding whether they refer to it as fake or not. And lastly, there is a clause in the lease that says you will agree to move out immediately if there is any sign of mold or mildew and will lose your security deposit. This is south florida! There is mold or mildew everywhere. I decided to pull my application and no proceed because there were too many issues too soon. I feel bad for people who get stick with this place. So many red flags.
I have lived here for 5 years. The rent goes up a hundred dollars every year and the pool is closed and they refuse to open it so there are absolutely no amenities for the price you pay. You are responsible for your own A/C filters and changing them as well as your own pest control services. Honestly for the rent you can find a much nicer place that actually has amenities you can use and somewhere that actually gives you what you pay for. This place does not. I will definitely not be renewing my lease this year. I have always paid on time and.kept both the inside and out clean and the manager is only here for MAYBE one hour a month. Just long enough on the 6th to put late rent notices on doors saying you have 3 days to pay. Trust me you will do much better elsewhere unless you are just looking for a place that offers nothing and doesn't care what you do as long as you pay. I would give negative stars of I could
