Recognized as one of America’s most historic neighborhoods, Germantown dates back centuries all the way to 1683. Even though it’s one of the oldest settlements in the city, Germantown has a relaxed and friendly vibe about it.
And speaking of its historic vanity – the Cliveden Estate’s backyard was the site of the 1777 Battle of Germantown. Along its main thoroughfare, a 2.5-acre rose garden flourishes with brightly-colored blooms at the Wyck House. Locals gather at the Johnson House – which was a stop on the Underground Railroad – to join in the Juneteenth Festival. The Revolutionary Germantown Festival is held every October and features reenactments of the Battle of Germantown.
Outside of their affordable apartments, locals can be found exploring Fernhill Park or dining at delicious eateries. Locals look forward to easy commutes to work by way of two SEPTA rail lines.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Wissahickon
The building and its surroundings are unclean and poorly maintained. The landlord increases the rent annually without making any repairs. Be prepared for plumbing problems, such as a leaky ceiling.
Property Manager at The Wissahickon, Responded To This Review
Hi, I'm sorry we didn't meet your expectations as we sincerely try to keep the building and surroundings clean and professional looking. Unfortunately, with all the increased expenses that we are hit with (insurance, utilities and taxes etc.) we have no choice but increase our rental rates. We are priced very fairly compared to our competitors.
Property Manager at The Wissahickon, Responded To This Review
Hi, We are sorry that you were disappointed with our property. We strive to provide a high standard in our apartments and address all maintenance concerns. If you would contact us directly or stop in the office we’d be happy to see what your specific issue is so that we may correct. Thanks The management
Overall, this apartment living experience was really good. All maintenance requests were taken care of, concerns were heard, and the owner was extremely approachable regarding any concerns we had. The apartment looks super modern inside with new and clean appliances. Overall, very well done apartment.
No parking, nothing has ever fixed correctly, and the rent goes up a lot every year.
I have been at this location for over a year now. It's pretty nice. I have nice respectful neighbors. It's very close to regional rail and septa bus routes.
