The Varsity(MI)

Varsity has been very quick to respond to customer service emails, and very attentive to individual needs. They got back to me within a day or two, and my request was completed immediately. Also, very helpful front desk staff.

I'm new here and just signed the lease. I really want to have a room with more sunlight!!! Thank you soooo much! I love being here and living at Varsity

Living at Varsity Ann Arbor has been a great experience for me. The location is super convenient, and the building is clean and modern. I would recommend this apartment to others.

I've really enjoyed living at the Varsity. I love the location and the amenities. Maintenance responds quickly,y though I haven't had many problems. I've also had no issues with noise.

They were very helpful in the leasing office. They were very kind to me and my friends and were able to answer all of our questions. I liked that the workers had personal relationships with the people living there.

Made it easy and stress free to find a place to live and many cool amenities! The workers in the office are also kind and helpful and the place is overall very nice.

Small but cozy 1B1B unit. The maintenance team has been very responsive and reliable. I don’t usually use many of the amenities but the gym is quite spacious compared to many other apartments nearby.

Staff is always helpful and kind and maintenance is always timely. I enjoy all of the events and amenities; I use the gym on a regular basis and the sky lounge for meeting with friends.

I love the staff and the activities. The amenities are nice and the repairs are quick. I love to get the coffee at the coffee station and study in the business room.

The apartment has great amenities and staff, super clean always and everyone is helpful. I appreciate the diversity of equipment available at the gym.

my experience living here has overall been alright. really noisy (walls are super thin, and you can here everything on the streets too) but great location and maintenance staff is good at taking care of things quickly. but my view is the next apartment... we can literally see into each other's rooms. gym is nice and i really appreciate the locked package locker so you don't have to go to the main office to get your package.

The community is fairly clean and the people are nice! The staff is super friendly and always does their best to help with anything we need.

The staff has always been so extremely friendly and overall wonderful! They make such great efforts to connect with their residents through community building activities. They will go to great lengths to resolve a problem that is within their control. While the rent is not cheap by any means, I feel that is more of a reflection of the Ann Arbor housing market.

Rent is too high but otherwise the building is fine and apartments are safe and maintenance is relatively quick to respond to issues in the apartment

I love how the building is always clean, but it would be better if the trash room were a little more controlled. I love living here, wish there were more office events :)

Varsity Ann Arbor is an amazing place to live! The property is beautiful, well-maintained, and in a prime location. The staff is fantastic, and Justin deserves a special shoutout — he goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly and residents are happy. The events are a great touch too, making it easy to connect with neighbors. Highly recommend!

Nice amenities, really nice staff. I wish the sky lounge was available to residents past office hours though, but at least we have the second floor study lounge.

Its a good location, nice events, and great staff. Little amount of lighting, but nice spaces and views. Good security and great common areas.

Overall, experience so far has been great. Maintenance has been super responsive to any problems. Package room is sometimes disorganized, but usually okay.

I love living at the Varsity! It is so close to my classes and State Street which is nice because I love going to Target! I love the 2-floor gym and how quiet the complex is at all times!

I love living at the Varsity!! The staff is extremely nice and very helpful with anything that you need! This is my first time living in an apartment, and I will say that it is a 10/10 experience!

I love the staff; they are always willing to help and want to get to know you through conversation. I especially love my neighbors, we easily became friends and make living here so fun.

The amenities are very nice, and the building hosts many fun events. My only complaint is that the butterflyMX system is not fully integrated with all the doors and elevators, so buzzing company up can be a bit of a hassle.

The apartment itself is spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with lots of natural light and high-quality finishes. The management team is incredibly responsive and helpful—any maintenance requests are handled quickly, and the staff is always friendly. The community amenities are a huge plus. I especially enjoyed the gym, which are always clean and well-maintained. The location is perfect, with easy access to the campus making day-to-day life very convenient. What really sets Varsity apart is the sense of community here. It’s a quiet, safe, and welcoming place to live. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free living experience!

Okay so far. Fire alarm didn’t go off on our floor but went off above and below us. People working in the leasing office are okay. The apartment is nice, wood floors and appliances are good.

Staff have all been very nice and made move in easier. Rooms are large with plenty of space! In unit washer and dryer are great as well. Would recommend.

Move-in was very easy with the help of the friendly staff. The rooms looked very clean, thanks so much to the maintenance and cleaning crews.

Small apartments for very high price. But very accommodating in roommate matching preferences. Yet the price is very high compared to other larger apartments also in the area

I move in this month and I am so excited! I have gotten familiar with The Varisty through taking a tour of the building. The tour was not only fun and educational but the tour guide really sold The Varsity community and all there is to offer!

Loved my time at varsity so much, this has been my favorite apartment on campus so far! Staff are amazing and amenities are perfect, definitely would recommend :)

This apartment sucks, the rents too high, the management is horrible, and the activities are always in the office and feel judgmental. I would not recommend living here

Absolutely recommend checking out the Varsity! I went to take a tour recently, and I was toured by Theresa. Not only did she show me the amenities and the model unit, but she also explained the whole process of applying, told us about what was included in the rent and fees, as well as answered all of our questions. She made us feel so welcomed and like we were touring our new home. When we were going through the application process, there were a couple of steps we were confused on. However, when we called, Justin helped talk us through those steps and answered a couple of clarifying questions while we were on the phone. He was so nice and also helped us sign the lease quickly, which made us so relieved. Leasing in Ann Arbor was really stressful and confusing for us, but they really helped us and made it a little less stressful, and we couldn’t thank them enough! Highly recommend the Varsity!!

My name is Arielle Lockhart and I have been a resident at The Varsity Ann Arbor since May 2023. Varsity has done way more than exceeded my expectations. Not only are the amenities endless, with a killer gym, study rooms, sky lounge, and more, but also a true community. I have felt right at home since the move-in date. There are also plenty of opportunities to meet new residents through Varsity's weekly events. Some of my favorite events this year have consisted of pie day, hydration station, national taco day, and other events that allow me to escape from the pressure of school. The Varsity Ann Arbor is where you want to be.

We were looking with our daughter for an apartment; moving out of the dorm. She picked this one to show us. We met with the Community Assistant (CA) Katherine J. She was so friendly and was able to speak to our daughter and to us (the parents). She understood all of our concerns and made some fantastic points about The Varsity. Katherine showed us around the facility and was able to show us a model. It wasn't exactly the same one our daughter wanted, but Katherine was able to explain the differences. At the end of our visit we met with Justin who greeted us with a smile and asked if we had any other questions we wanted to talk about. As a parent, I appreciated he wanted to hear our questions and concerns. Katherine did a great job, and Justin was able to add to the visit by talking through how the administration takes the safety of the residents so seriously. It was an informative and a parent-blood-pressure-lowering discussion. In balance, I initially thought the cost was high. But after seeing other facilities and rental homes, The Varsity wins hands down! You will find options that are less, but the small increase you may pay here is well worth the convenience of how centrally located this is to the campus and bus stops; the layers of safety between entry into the lobby, to access to the elevators, to all the monitored safety features; the overall value when you see the in-house gym (especially with the CCRB being rebuilt over the next few years), the upper lounge areas, common space; and how clean you find the outside of the complex, the lobby, the gym, the hallways. You won't appreciate that part until you've walked through some rental homes. IYKYK.

Went in for a tour today and was welcome right away by their friendly staff. Justin gave me the tour of the property and it exceeded my expectations. Varsity is at the top of my list!

We have rented a few different apartments in the past three years at the Varsity. It's a nice clean property. Management is always attentive to any problems/issues. Apartment repairs are completed very timely. Really good location.

I am in a 1 bedroom apartment and I cannot say enough great things about living here. It is like a hotel. Between community assistants, full time employees, and security, there is always someone in the lobby greeting you. The two-story gym fits all of my weight-lifting needs and more. My apartment is gorgeous, with floor to ceiling windows looking over the neighborhoods beyond Ann Arbor. It is the absolute perfect spot to live in Ann Arbor.

I am in a 4 bedroom 2 bath apartment and I absolutely love it! All of the staff here are so nice and personable and make you really feel at home. My favorite parts are the 24 hour gym and business center. I have a really busy schedule, so being able to workout late at night has been amazing. Also, I like to study at night, but most of the time, especially in the winter, I don't want to leave the building; so, having a study area downstairs 24/7 is awesome! I 100% recommend living here!

I have a 1 bedroom at the Varsity, and I absolutely LOVE IT! My experience has been wonderful, and my favorite part is the gym and the inviting lobby area. I would definitely recommend living at the Varsity!

This is a great apartment for students! It's a short walk to campus and so many great local restaurants. It's also a really high quality building with great study spaces!

My time at The Varsity has been wonderful. They have taken all the necessary precautions with Covid, the grounds are always well maintained and cleaned, the staff is friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are spacious, and the rooms are beautiful (some of my favorite features being the high ceilings and the full all windows in the common area). The location is great. It’s right near State Street and only a five minute walk from campus. I haven’t had any trouble with noise while I have stayed here, and generally it is pretty silent at night.

Varsity was the best housing option that I have stayed in during my 5 years in Ann Arbor. Its location is excellent for any type of crowd (quiet area, yet close to everything you will need to go to), as well as its proximity to campus. There is mostly nothing missing from its amenities, and its fitness center is stellar (has everything you will need for a good workout - both guys and gals). Rooftop bar is usually quiet and nice place to work and/or socialize. Disclaimer: This is before Arbor Blue and Foundry Lofts opened, so it does not take them into account.
