Property Ratings at The Signal
I would not recommend this complex if you’re looking for a true “luxury” living experience. The power has been out in main areas of the building—including the package lockers, lobby, mail room, and leasing office—for extended months, and there’s been little to no urgency to resolve it. The entire building constantly smells unpleasant, and cleanliness is a major issue. Many residents do not pick up after their pets. Dog waste is regularly left on sidewalks, turf areas, and common spaces, which reek of urine. There’s clearly no enforcement or maintenance to keep things clean or sanitary. Noise is another major problem—walls and ceilings are paper thin. You can hear everything from the units above and beside you, making it hard to get peace and quiet. On top of all that, management is unresponsive. Emails go unanswered for days or are ignored completely, and they often avoid addressing ongoing issues altogether. They also stop replacing water filters after six months, claiming it’s “too expensive” and expect residents to cover the cost themselves. This place has been nothing but a series of problems, and it falls far short of the “luxury” label. I would not recommend living here.
Has not been a pleasure living here. Constant problems, power has been out for 3 months now in main areas of complex, this is supposed to be a “luxury” complex and it smells terrible all throughout the building, residents don’t clean up after pets, pet areas reek of urine at entrances, package locker doesn’t work, pet spa doesn’t work, pool hasn’t worked, still paying full rent when amenities don’t work. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

We appreciate your feedback, positive and negative. The power outage has been an enormous obstacle for our team, and we are doing are very best to navigate this. We have been given positive information from our owners about the repairs being completed sooner rather than later. The pool was reopened two weeks ago. We have also been approved to repaint all of our hallways throughout the building. We just had the carpet on floors 2 and 4 professionally cleaned. Floors 1,3, and 5 will follow soon. Broken fire alarms, parking deck gates, and elevators all within about two years of being open is honestly an embarrassment for how much is being charged for rent.

Please know that some of the specialty equipment on our property such as elevators, garage gates etc. - cannot be repaired by our maintenance team. We are reliant on specific vendors to get these issues resolved, and are often times completely at the mercy of their scheduling and timetable. We are constantly working with our vendors to figure out long-term fixes for any issues that arise. Don't hesitate to reach out to us directly with any concerns you have. We are happy to assist!
I am going on opt out of this at this time because not thrilled with my experience and don’t want that to undermine the excitement I once felt for the space. I truly thought it was going to be different then everywhere else

The Signal is a beautiful property with friendly residents and helpful staff. The building is accessible to lots of exciting new areas of downtown but is located far enough away to not be disturbed by late night noise. Parking is convenient and secure and apartment layouts are thoughtful, beautiful, and functional. Appliances are high quality and the high ceilings and ample storage make this property stand out in downtown Raleigh. The Signal amenities are pristinely maintained and common areas are inviting and peaceful.

Since the day I moved into The Signal, the property management team has been incredibly helpful and accommodating. One of the best run properties in Raleigh!
We toured The Signal with Ameer a few times before finally pulling the trigger. We were moving across the country and our timeline to move kept changing. They were totally accommodating to our changing timeline and worked with us to help us find our dream apartment. We have nearly double the space of our old apartment, a lot more amenities, and an even better location. Downtown is totally walkable to Glenwood and we’re right by Oakwood. Plenty of space and friendly places to take the dog for a walk nearby. I can’t imagine living anywhere else!

I moved in less than a month ago & could not be more pleased with my decision. The property and units are well-maintained. The signal has been a wonderful experience so far. My move in was very quick and I’m not settled in yet with a fully furnished apartment but so far I have everything I need here. Having a nice gym on site makes a huge difference and being able to work in the business area the signal has has been amazing due to not having a fully furnished apartment yet. The staff is very proactive in helping in any way the possibly can. 10/10 would recommend the signal to anyone new to the Raleigh area.

The staff do a great job of pitching this place which is top notch in all areas. Excellent apartments with nice finishing touches. Great use of technology for access and security. Special secured parking area for residents. Wonderful amenities and exercise room. Quiet spaces if you need them. And the surrounding area is perfect. O2 Fitness around the corner (but exercise room here is great), Peace University across the street, Publix a short walk/drive, and all the wonderful historical neighborhoods of Raleigh an easy walk, as well as all kinds of restaurants. Work orders are being taken care of immediately. Valet trash services are a nice touch. And….and…..Pet of the Month!

My husband and I are relocating from Texas. We checked out The Signal based on a hood friend’s recommendation. We scheduled our tour with Grady who was in the extremely welcoming and informative. He took care to listen to our needs/wants and highlighted key pieces of the building as well as the surrounding neighborhood. We were more than pleased with what we saw and could easily see our family becoming a part of this community. The amenities are phenomenal and the floor plans are really smart. I definitely recommend checking the place out and when you do, ask for Grady to show you around.

Took a tour of the signal with Sarena and was so impressed by the amenities, touring experience and floor plans. Sarena was very knowledgeable and didn’t ever make me feel rushed as we went through multiple floor plans. The resident events are already so impressive - Sushi & Wine, Hibachi on the Terrace. So excited for what’s planned. I am so happy I now call The Signal home!
